"My daughter and I stayed on Wednesday for lunch. It was nice that it didn't seem to be crowded. We sat at the bar and ordered unsweetened iced tea. My daughter ordered the crabs that were a large part and reported them as very good. I ordered the Jambalaya, who was a big part of lunch, so I took half home tomorrow. It was tasteful and only a touch sharp. Good for those who can't take too much heat. I added more pepper sauce for my taste. Overall a good experience and we will hold back when we are in the next area."

For dinner stopped and was very happy with our meal. Had the fried pickles and the hot chicken sandwich and we had the bride queen. The pineapple was the best. recommend this place.

We had a good experience at 55 South! Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The food was good heavier, southern/New Orleans style stuff. They do have some salads and what not but definitely more of a Southern place. The wings were good and shrimp and grits was flavorful.

This restaurant is fantastic. The service, food and drink menu are top notch. We stayed in a hotel across the street so the first night it was just a matter of convenience. But it was so good. We actually finished all of our tourism in downtown then drove back for a late dinner the next night. That says something that it stood out enough to repeat on a vacation weekend.
