"Food was amazing. I had the shrimp and grits, my usual go-to at restaurants and probably the best I 've had in a while. Food was served hot, another plus. Wasn 't a fan of the service. Took about 10-15 minutes before someone asked if we 'd been helped. Then our waitress didn 't ask what side I wanted with my meal. When I inquired, she said it didn 't come with a side. The whole table stared at the menu in confusion that distinctly said it came with a side. She informed us that the menus were messed up. I didn 't push because I wasn 't super hungry any way but if it 's advertised, it should be honored. Or at least offer to ask the manager. I 'll give 3 stars for service though because everyo...

Stopped in for lunch while traveling. Everyone was very welcoming and service was excellent. Be sure to get the fried squash! We shared a sandwich and a side salad. All delicious. Small but such a nice restaurant on the square.

Update: We gave Bernie's another try. It was a much better experience. Post from a few months ago;This WAS our favorite place to eat in Swainsboro. After an hour wait for the 3rd time and no server to bring water I'm going to find another favorite place. For a$90 meal I shouldn't have to get my own drink. We had to find someone to pay for our meal.
