"I was in Jersey for an event and found this place. I love a good tapas restaurant and know they are few and far between in the area. Upon arrival there was confusion of what door to go in and what bar/restaurant I was actually in. Apparently Blk Shp connects with the Red Hen and one restaurant is closed on certain days while the other is open. Reguardless- I was handed a stack of menus containing items from both restaurants. an oasis of fine eating in south jersey! a beautiful dining room with consistently delicious tapas, including the best aubergine chips and hearty lambskin. andrew could not have been a better server or more accommodating. my older elders spent the trip to the house and discussed what they would order next time.

Just had a very long , slow meal at Blk Shp. I ordered the grilled octopus and it was warm at best. The sticky ribs were good and the steak empanadas were tasty. The service was brutal. When we arrived, we were the only diners in the restaurant and it took our server 20 minutes to bring us a glass of wine and a bottle of beer. Unfortunately, it continued to go down hill from there with the lack of service. I am so very disappointed with my dining experience and will not be returning.

Food and drinks were good in the beginning, I had no complaints! Ordered the chicken kabobs and the chicken was mushy I could mash it with a fork. I hate to return things but had to because I wasn't going to eat it. The chef and manager both were very defensive stating the chicken was made that morning and they were confused as to why I sent it back. The manager stated they wouldn't refund me the full price because the meal was already made. As a paying customer, the management could have handled the situation much better.
