"My husband and I ordered takeout on our way to Roan Mountain to do some hiking and birding. We both got the Philly cheesesteak and fries. (We skipped the vegan mayo. Both were hot and fresh and delicious. We don’t eat fries often so when we splurge we want them to be fresh cut and fried right. These did not disappoint. Double fried and crispy. We would definitely stop here again if we are anywhere near Johnson City."

"My husband and I are foodies who one time (okay, so really more than one time) drove 16 hours just for ice cream. When friends suggested dinner at Gourmet and Company, my memories from eating there years ago were good ones, so we agreed. While this place doesn't look like much from the outside it is in a strip mall it has a serene and elegant interior. It was a beautiful evening, so we opted to eat outside on the patio. Our server was excellent; he was attentive and very professional. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and among the 4 of us we had a pretty good sampling filets, salads, grilled salmon, and a vegetarian pasta dish. The goat cheese salad was hands down the best salad I have ever had! My husband and I don't eat meat and we agreed this meal was easily in our top 5 meatless meals since we went vegetarian over a year ago. For dessert, our party had the chocolate mousse cake, the caramelized banana bread, and the hand held peach pie. This was a flawless meal and we all agreed we would return soon."

"I had the grilled catfish and it was perfect. My wife had the food shrimps and she loved it again. The price and the part were also perfect. They couldn't go to McDonald's and eat at this price. Everything around the great place if you want good food cheap. The bad decoration and environment looks like they bought an old Shoneys and added some fish restaurant essential and said that 'll do! I rarely advise on decor, unless it really interrupts my joy or it is really out of place with the price of food. Just know if you expect a beautiful place to impress a date, this is probably not the best place for it, unless your date is smart and appreciated someone with good taste and economic thanks, then it is perfect to impress! That ugly, honestly, that is one of the few places that muted me with the ugly! I can usually find something for this category even half-hearted, but this is about everything I can say for the ugly one here. Overall taste and price to impress even if it is not dressed for them. We will come back plans for a trip of 45 miles to enjoy it again. It's so good. I'm sure you won't be disappointed."

"Really a find, although it has been there for a while, we finally have to taste the delicious food. The atmosphere is great, the staff are very attentive and good and friendly and the food is excellent. I've tried many Thai food places in my travels, but never Lao's food. And that was incredible. Flavoring is incredible. The vegetables are cooked for perfection. The meat was tender and juicy. I'll be back soon."

"I was visiting the area for a week and sought out restaurants that were vegan friendly. I was delighted to find this small stylish Turkish cafe with a nice outdoor patio. I tried the maze platter so I could taste a variety of appetizers. It was beautiful! It included two things I had never had before. The ezme consisted of lovely chopped tomatoes with fresh herbs. The smoked eggplant was the star, so rich and flavorful! The platter plus some lentil soup made a fine meal. Loved it so much I went back the next night for more smoked eggplant, plus a falafel wrap with green pepper added, kalamata olives on the side, and excellent tabouleh. Finished off with strong Turkish coffee. Highly recommended!!"
