"Tastes like home. As a displaced Texan in Nebraska I have searched high and low for food that tastes like being back home. Some places have come close but it still was always lacking until we stumbled upon El Portal a few years ago. My husband and I would drive from Omaha just to eat there and last year when we moved to Lincoln, I was so happy to be that much closer to my favorite place. I have yet to have a dish here that isn't amazing and most of the time we are here at least once a week. The welcoming atmosphere and the friendly service definitely keep us coming back."

"I wish they added more cheese pizza after it was done but if your close go give it a try. It was only $10 per person they have a variety of things pizza , pasta , salad bar , dessert everything you would want when getting pizza without the additional costs of everything individually. Also the waitress was super friendly!!"

"Timbers never disappoints! I have eaten there while we’ve stayed at the lodge, I’ve eaten there for work parties; my husband and I have had date nights there; and tonight I took my family there for a mutual meeting place to eat and chat! The food was fabulous, service was wonderful, and the wine was great! Our party included ages 5 to 40 and we all were satisfied! As usual, we will be back!"

"We dined at the indoor bistro style restaurant and chose a table with a lovely view at a perfect 77°. This family-owned restaurant had a beautiful boutique atmosphere and the service was excellent, making us feel right at home. Next time you're in Nebraska City, be sure to stop by for unique cuisine, great wine, delicious desserts, and excellent coffee.
