The Rheinische Landesmuseum presents a variety of exhibits from early history to modern times. A focus is on changing exhibitions so you should see whether you want the current program before visiting the website. The museum staff is very friendly. Guided tours are also available when you arrive at the right time. The entrance fees are cheap and the museum is only three minutes walk from the train station if you are out of the train station on the south side, so you can pay a visit after arrival at the train station if you have a little time before it goes to the actual destination.
