"ANyone that is looking for a place to dine and eat at in the South Portland/Maine Mall area would probably never think about a hotel retaurant that is tucked away and hidden in the Sable Oaks. Well, I definitely would recommend this restaurant if you are ok with spending some money on a really nice meal in a fairly quiet restaurant (at least the night we came). We came with a party of five and had gotten a coupon to come here and we were very pleasantly surprised. This place may be under construction today, but the bartender and hostess work their butts off to improve the dining experience of their hotels guests. I went for a delicious French onion soup, crab cakes and wings. Very reasonably priced for hotel fare, I will be back.

The service here is pretty good and food was also good. We ate here twice and both times didn't disappoint. First time, we sat at the bar and had a few drinks. I got the crab cakes which were delicious and a blueberry moijto. The moijto was fabulous because we'll mixed. The staff was helpful in suggesting a brewery to tour. The second night, we sat at table and ordered food. I got the French onion soup and a burger which were delicious. The price was fairly decent for hotel food.

We had a late (and second) dinner during our stay at the Marriott at Sable Oaks in Portland, ME during our Northeast road trip last September. We had had dinner elsewhere earlier in the evening, but were still a bit hungry, so we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant, the Fire and Water Fish Chophouse. I ordered the clam chowder and we had drinks as well and really enjoyed it. The clam chowder was solid and a good portion. Best clam chowder ever? Certainly not, but it was nice to have food options open somewhat late during our visit to Portland, ME. They have a pretty decent menu and service is good I'd definitely visit again if I was staying at the hotel next time I visit Portland, ME.

"If I could say one word for Fore Street it’s consistent. It never fails to give us the best food and service that we could ask for when we visit. We were sat down at a booth and immediately felt the ventilation was blowing cold air on us. We mentioned to our server Sarah, that it was very cold and could we have another table. Sarah immediately told Matt and he kindly sat us at another booth. We appreciated the prompt action. Our party of four enjoyed the mussels an outstanding pork belly. "eating was really good, many options. I felt that the portions were really small. I asked if they had milk for the boba I got, and the girl was sneaking me instead of just telling me they didn't. the bobas was still warm when I got my drink and the ice was melted so that the drink itself wasn't as cold as I would like, but the taro flavor was really good and my friend thought it was really better. You can build your own Poke shell and I suggest you go hard on the beats, as I said, they don't put much on it. overall good I just think that the girl at the counter would have been a bit warmer."

"In addition to Eventide, Bite Into Maine was my favorite lobster on my trip by far. I immediately fell in love with the picnic-style lobster roll, which sits in a bed of Coleslaw for the lobster. Another aspect of the roles I loved was the crispy and buttery bread that enveloped the filling. It was a little mess to eat, but no complaints. Also helps to see the Portland Head Light right there in Fort Williams! Unfortunately we went on an extremely rainy and cold day, but it was worth the trek."

"The food and the staff were wonderful. No reservation, no problem. a large small restaurant, warm and cozy. We shared an appetizer and a salad with salmon (both were excellent) and large cudos to our waiter, they had no problems with it. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. If you are looking for a good meal in South Portland You go there, you won't be disappointed."

"Visited for the first time, but not the last, last weekend. Loved everything about the restaurant...the atmosphere, the staff and oh, did I mention the food? I had the brussels sprouts for a starter and for my main, I had the Blue Plate special which that night was crispy duck breast with mushroom risotto and my sister had the half chicken. I love that it is such a neighbourhood establishment and that a family can afford to go out for a good meal at a good price. We will definitely be back!"
