"Very disappointed with the customer service and the very dangerous lack of responsibility for food allergies. After placing an order and specifically asking if there was any red chile, which for me is a trip to the urgent care, there was in fact tons of it included in the dish. I realize this is New Mexico and a lot of places do spice their food with red chile, because it is amazing, but to be told very rudely that it does not have any, and finding out after eating it and having a reaction that it did, is absolutely irresponsible and dangerous. After talking with the manager, who still denies there was any in the dish even though we have photos with visible red chile flakes, would still not...

We recently dined at Guadalajara Grill in Taos, New Mexico and were very impressed with their authentic Mexican dishes. The customer service was excellent and the restaurant was clean. They also have outdoor seating which we enjoyed. We will definitely be returning next time we are in the area.

The portions at this restaurant are massive! We were able to enjoy our meal for four days! The fajitas were fantastic, the salsa was delicious, and the guacamole was perfect (even better than my homemade recipe) and they were very generous with the tortilla chips. This place offers great value for the money and we will definitely be returning for more.

"There have been several very pointed negative reviews of this restaurant primarily involving service that I'd like to comment on. In fact, the reviews are so negative that I had to check this place and the owners out for myself to see what reality truly was. I arrived about 6:30p and was immediately offered an inside or outside table. I took the outside table since it was a nice evening and would also test the service. Nice helpful waiter arrived with menus within a couple of minutes. My drink order was taken 2-3 minutes later. The drink was delivered 3-4 minutes after that. The dinner order was taken timely and my food was delivered hot and in a less than normal amount of time. And it was EXCEPTIONAL food. Wanting to tell the owners that I was glad I checked it out for myself, I asked the waiter if the owners were at the restaurant that evening. Sure the waiter replied, I'm Antonio I told him how great the meal was and told him I really wanted to meet his wife Sarah who had been written about so often to see if she was as mean and rude as the reviews said she was. He laughed and said just a minute. Sarah came out about 5 minutes later and I told her she was becoming a cult hero. She also laughed saying the reviews painted a false picture and I have to agree. She said she was was glad I had come to check it out myself, and told me a number of others had recently done the same, and had reached the same conclusion. Here's my take: everyone knows staffing is next to impossible these days, especially in a smaller tourist-oriented town like Taos. If you go to a restaurant with great food and it's crowded (as it should be), don't expect minute by minute service. Be patient and understanding. If you want service at the snap of your fingers, go when it's not crowded. Go early in the evening. Otherwise, be patient and polite. There is no doubt in my mind the negative reviews and Sarah's pointed replies are likely in response to some impatient, demanding and unrealistic attitudes. I strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting exceptional food at a fair price."

"I have been anticipating to come here for a very long time... but it was really a let down. I'm not sure about the locals, but by my experience growing up in a Peruvian household it was not authentic. There weren't many options on the menu, not all of it is necessarily typical Peruvian food. The food was okay. I had the Paella, which was basically spanish rice, mixed with a little bit of calamari, and four oysters. Seems like something I could make at home. The little thing of aji (chopped onion, tomatoes, lemon, etc. Was not as flavorful, but definitely added to the dish. As far as the presentation, the plate with the cloth and skillet looked nice and neat. The food itself was not presented in an impressive way but it was organized. Got the passion fruit cheesecake, it was good. My mom asked for one too, never ended up getting it. Dad got flan, it was forgotten about and we were not willing to wait for it so he got cheesecake too. Little bit of communication issuses... The restaurant was pretty empty, there was just a couple there. Very clean place, loved the decor, the art works. It was somewhat of an open concept design, since the kitchen was visible from my table. Customer service was fast, and wonderful. The waitress was very nice. Overall, my visit was exceptional. One thing I would like to add for those coming here in the future, is to make a reservation ahead of time, and to confirm it the day of going. Just because the restaurant isn't busy does not change the fact that reservations are needed."
