"Traveling through we hit dinner time and wanted more of a sit down home style meal instead of our fast food frenzy we’ve had on most of our road trip. So we decided to venture more into the heart of town and found this place a few blocks down from the main highway. This isn’t a Ruth’s Chris or Texas land Cattle by any means but we were willing to give it a try because we were craving steak and potatoes. Eat here with my dad when I was little. Flash back in time as we entered. The chicken fried steak is a real 3/4 1” Steak used like my grandma to make. Potatoes were made home. Great storage space to share with my hubs.

Decent enough steak joint. 2 visits saw me trying their ribeye and chicken fried steak. Steak was good. Soup and salad bar was alright. Chicken fried steak and the potatoes were smothered in gravy...very heavy. I felt like they were trying to hide something. Salad bar and ice cream station could of been serviced better. Very attentive, friendly staff.

Fun decorations, but way too dark (not a mood-lighting thing, either) and the salad bar food looked old and tired. The soup tasted terrible, and the soda wasn't cold. On the other hand, the waitress was very friendly and helpful, seating us at a larger table so we would have plenty of room. She had a great attitude. Outside the door were potholes filled with water, and the mud was slick. I understand the restaurant owner has no control over the weather, but it was a really dangerous situation for people of limited ability, walking with canes. Sandbags when it rains? Laying down a board? Surely something could be done.
