"Oh, my God! What a pleasure to eat at Vivian Howard's restaurant. It exceeded our expectations for a mile! The ambience, presentations, flavors, diversity and service was excellent (Susan snd other)! We were not sure about some of the reviews we read and almost canceled our reservation, but are so glad that we left anyway! My partner said the **** was the best he had ever eaten. He also shaved over the basil infused Gimlet. I found the Miso Gingered Greens and the marinated cucumber noodles to be the highlight of the meal. I also have the strawberry salad that had an amazing strawberry dress. The 10-layer chocolate cake with vanilla chantilly Cream was spectacular. I'm not a fan of caramel, but the rest of the plate was so good I would order it again. We shared the cake and are glad that we did because it was much to satisfy. We are looking forward to our next visit when we live in Upstate NY and only reach this vast south occasionally."

"We were looking for a little gem in Kinston and we found it! Friendly greetings as we walked through the door and our server (Robin) was top notch and friendly! The food was really good and as other reviews have indicated if you want something that isn’t on the menu and they have it they seem happy to oblige! The owner (Steve) stopped by and told us his story! So cool! You just feel right at home and it’s obvious that Steve and his family are good to their staff because it shows in the positive atmosphere as you dine there! We had a great experience! You should give it a try! You’ll have no regrets! Rob Tammy"

"This is a frequent lunch break for me. The food is always perfect! My favorite is the Chicken Sun Dried Tomato Panini. My only conse would be the prices a little expensive and the waiting time is long. The staff is always friendly and you know that you get quality for your dollars!"

"I took my dad there on 6-18-22 for Father's Day. He's always talked about how good the food was and the salad bar was great! It had been many years since he has gone there,so I wanted to take him. It really didn't take long to be seated and our waiter was great. Dad, got the 6oz ribeye with a sweet potatoe and the bar. I had gotten the scallops with a baked potato . The scallops with the bar. The ribeye was so tender and cooked to perfection as well as the sweet potato and baked potato. They were a big portion and cooked just right. The scallops were so moist and tender. For the price for your entree with the bar is a great price. The only thing I had an issue with is that they had ran out of meatballs and said that it would be 30-40 minutes for them to be ready, also I wanted to take a to go salad bar back to my mother, they charged me 10.99 for the bar. The problem with that they gave me 1 cup for the soup or the meatballs, which there were none to get and they gave me a very small little box for the salad bar. The small container was like a small square. It surely wasn't big enough to put a good salad on and the amount they charge you for it it's really a rip off! If they were worried amount the amount people get then they should charge by the pound. Maybe they were just having an off day. Over all, the food my dad and I had gotten was very good."
