"To stroll through the streets of Chautauqua in summer is to fill one's nose with the charcoal of outdoor grills and one's ears with the chatter of countless private dinner parties. These gatherings appear as central to the experience of Chautauqua in summer as the official events of the Institute. Food was good but pricey with sides ala carte. Because of the small portions we had to stop for snacks after a $100 dinner for 2.

Very underwhelming. A simple “rare” hamburger was over cooked and served with soggy chips. Ordered three courses and never had a dirty dish removed unless we handed it to a waiter walking by. Ordered three beers from the menu that were all out of stock. Paid top dollar for McDonald’s service and food

This restaurant has wonderful food. The buffet was $18 which might seem a bit high but it is on Institute grounds and the food is of very high quality. I thought that it was well worth it. All of the fruits and vegetables were fresh and well prepared. The staff was prompt and attentive as one would expect of a family owned and run establishment. I would rate this as the best food in Chautauqua!
