Never experienced it. Restaurant closed the night we were to celebrate 10 yr anniversary. Only notified same day. Not able to make it again since we’re from out of state.

What an amazing experience We started with the champagne caviar at the rooftop and moved onto the exceptional dinner at Mugen. As lots of reviewers mentioned, it’s a course meal and the portions are relatively small. We ordered the additional 5 oz Wagyu, and left happy and full. If you are looking for a one of a kind dining experience in Hawaii, this is it!

Although food quality was very good and service was excellent, overall experience was very mediocre. Chef charges$155 for 7 course dinner, while in reality it is 5 course dinner as first course is actually an amuse-bouche and in the middle it is just a sorbet pallet cleanser. We travel a lot and dine in highly rated tasting menu places , and the way this dinner was served was super rushed, guests did not have a chance to enjoy even a small conversation as dishes very served one after another. Idea and food are 5 but execution and value 1.
