"DIVE BAR, but seriously in all the best ways. Low key place where the locals hang out, with friendly, chill staff, good drinks that are a good price and a solid kitchen. A funny story, we were staying in Seattle last month before we went on a cruise. My father in law wanted to take us out to a nice dinner, fine dining, but the bistro he took us to was at a hotel and due to low staff, they were only serving people staying in the hotel that night. He has diabetes and we need to find a place to eat pretty quickly so he could take his medication. I had read about the good burgers at Retro but didn’t know anything else about it. Great bar. Great food (cheeseburger and fries simple yet satisfying) can’t wait to go down the menu and try it all. AND — Nick the bartender was the best. So excited to find a new place in a town I’m passing through.

Went to Retro with my husband our first night in town. I looked up restaurants near our hotel and it came up and the menu sounded good. We went in and it was a cute little bar. It is also very reminiscent of home and I think that made me like it more. I ordered a Caesar salad and my husband ordered the meatloaf hoagie. My salad, while very fresh with yummy croutons, was a little dry. However, the meatloaf hoagie was to die for. The meatloaf was essentially a giant meatball and was delicious. But more than that, the hoagie roll was so good. I was truly pleased that my husband shared with me. Also the fries that came with his sandwich were delicious too! I found the Retro Restaurant Lounge on the corner of Stewart Street and Third Avenue in Seattle, WA. I ordered a Cheeseburger Texas style. The Burger Breakdown... The beef: 8 ounce patty was strong and tasted like a 100% chuck burger. The fat content was on average - about 20%. The burger was juicy, and this was reinforced again by the moist, dense, bun. The Burgerpatty was only strong enough to stay on the palate and to keep itself. The Seasoning: I observed that the nice man behind the grid mat hit the burgers with a salty mix of spices on both sides of the Patty as she fades away.
