"Usually one of our favorite restaurants in the area. This night was a little disappointing though. 1st we were seated in the side room. Totally different vibe from the vibrant front room which was filled. It is .....a very boring and plain room I guess would describe it best. Then there was a large, very noisy group in the room. Swearing and just way to loud for others to enjoy a meal (our anniversary) as others also around us commented. Was then informed there was no lobster and was all out of it for the night. At 6:00pm!? You might expect that at 8 or 9 but the night just started. (Coincidently my wife and her friends went there revently for lunch and at 12 they were told they had no fish...

Definitely will go back...Great ..Food,drinks, atmosphere... A real neighborhood gem...

Atmosphere was nice, although some of the tables were very close to each other. Food was great! We will be going back!

Have heard good things from others and finally got around to trying it. I had blackened scallops and my wife had prosciutto wrapped cod. Both were very good. I requested lightly blackened and they were. Cocktails were well made. Wine list was good. Service was on the slow side but we were not in a rush. Not a lot of things to baffle noise so the conversations were at times loud but even more so was clanking of dishes into the bus trays and loud noises coming from the kitchen like pots banging. I would go again and request the auxiliary dining room off of the main.

"Great restaurant! Our waitress was Rachel and she was super friendly and had great moods. The restaurant is decorated in a historic house. They had just updated the menus there and we had the chance to try some new dishes, the black salmon and the red pepper hummus that came in the cupboard that were both brilliant. Husband enjoyed the salmon and I chose a full house salad that was delicious. The balsamic dressing was perfectly balanced between sweet and sour. We both ordered a pomegranate that was also a completely new taste that none of us had before. There are vegan options available house salad, hummus plate, cuprite plate) Great music also played inside. Enjoy our meal, server and experience as a whole. Totally recommended."

"I have visited numerous times over the years and I was truly disappointed and was so looking forward to my lunch. I ordered pot roast and it arrived well done and cold,, even the extra gravy was slightly warm. Our server was wonderful and apologetic but it was not enough to warm our hearts. Hope this was just an off day as it was the first unpleasant visit we had."

"Great family diner with big portions and reasonable prices. We went for breakfast and between 3 people sampled a lot of different foods all good. I especially love that they let my 6 9 year old do every single substitute for their meals with no extra charge!! Kid friendliness: I love any restaurant that accommodates all the substitutes my kids want bagel instead of potatoes, English muffin instead of toast, etc. at no extra charge!"

"Avellino- Sturbridge, Massachusetts- 9/21/2017 As you drive up, a stately white building faces the road with tall white columns, ornate trim and an inviting driveway. That’s the front of the restaurant. Drive around back to enter. You’ll walk thru the downstairs bar to get to the main Dining Room up front. Once inside, dark brown wooden tables and chairs with brown paper place settings. A farm table work station sits center room housing glasses, water, pepper grinders and the like… All this sits on wood plank tile. Mural style wallpaper covers two walls and lots of old wood trim. Dimly lit lighting adds to the ambiance.. The restaurant has a very warm feel to it. Would you believe they actually bake their own bread daily? Most, if not close to all other restaurants bring it in par-baked from commercial bakeries. Served room temperature with herb’d EVOO... Not bad. The photograph really doesn’t do it justice. Tonight starts off with the Shrimp Scampi Bruschetta… Fresh Mozzarella, Prosciutto,, Rustic Sourdough, EVVO with a Balsamic Glaze… Flavorful and light. Just the perfect starter. As I contemplated my next course my eyes land on the Slow Roasted Pork Shank served with Root Vegetables of Acorn Squash, Potatoes and Jicama, Tomato, Mushrooms, Demi-glacé, Creamy Polenta, Braised locally sourced Spinach all in a Tomato base rich Brown Sauce… This is a large dish so don’t fill up on bread prior. It was delicious! Although thee were many wonderful dessert choices, I opted to be good and just have my signature Cappuccino with a single piece of Biscotti… I had a great time and my guess is…, you will too. And when you come here, don’t forget to tell them Paul sent you… #Yummy #Food"
