"Wife and I ate here last Friday as part of our Anniversary trip. We were seated quickly as there wasn’t any other patrons there, we were seated outside on the patio, it was a lovely evening, right temperature, good amount of shade etc. Our server was attentive and offered good suggestions. My wife had the crab cakes and French Onion soup. I chose the Duck breast. It was helpful that the menu’s already had the alcohol pairing suggestions. We both went with the Pinot Noir. The Duck was great, although the fat on it didn’t melt in my mouth as much as I wanted it too, but other than the texture of the fat, the taste and texture of the the breast was on point. The pricing was very reasonable, I would recommend to anyone that is looking for a nice place in Lava to dine. Service: Dine in Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"We entered the restaurant when they were obviously experiencing an extremely busy period. We still made the decision to stay and accepted the long wait to place our order. It was a pleasant surprise that, after ordering, the food was served soon after. It was very good and I was especially happy to finally have some good pad thai. It is variable wherever we go. Even though water was very late to arrive, and my hubby 's soft drink was missed, we considered this to be a minor issue considering that the staff were slammed . Their coping ability was impressive. "this has caught our attention from everyone close, so we wanted to try it out. the management made a bad call only with a gal running the host, bar tending, waitress and cash today. they were packed for dinner and everyone had an extremely long waiting period as it was all for her. cutos to her because it works, but, got our food before our drinks and both needed some time to make it to us. if there were more workers, they would have made more soaked with this kind of waiting. the food was good and filled. Maybe id try it again during a slower hour. also bear witness to a party of 5 must go elsewhere because of a 25-minute waiting period with 2 empty tables because they simply could not do everything. Finally, have 2 younger youngs coming help clean tables. I'm sure those who left would have been happy if they helped her earlier so that they would have tried this place."

"Wow! We stayed the night at the riverside. This was our decision for dinner. We arrived later and were able to settle into a table outside. The creek is nice but kids go down on tubes so you get to hear their joy. The drinks were okay. We ordered a French onion soup as appetizer. My wife ordered the salmon and I got the clam chowder. The soup was a perfect appetizer and over the top on flavor. It was primo. I had a clam chowder in California by the shore and it was not nearly as good as the Portneuf clam chowder. Their clam chowder was simply divine. My wife said her salmon was amazing. I wouldn't know as I did not get any and she enjoyed every bite. They are pricey but the cook has to be a pro. The cook even came out and talked to us. She also gave us a piece of cake on the house because we were on our honeymoon. This was a culinary delight on our honeymoon trip."

"We were hungry for not fried not salty food on a trip. The cook here prepared a well grilled salmon steak, steamed veggies, and a large salad. The bonus for me (from the east coast) was the best mashed potatoes ever. There was little added, just perfectly prepared fresh Idaho potatoes. The food wasn't salty, or fancy, but plentiful and delicious."
