"New name: Hooper 's . In honor of the late Austin, TX film director Tobe Hooper. Hooper directed Texas Chainsaw Massacre which was filmed on sets all around Austin, including this 1911 Victorian house. It was originally on Quick Hill Road in Round Rock, Texas. Most of the TCM movie scenes were filmed in the house, including the staircase scene, the dining room scene, and crazy rooftop chase scene. Well, the old house was put on a trailer and moved to Kingsland, Texas (45 minutes west of Austin) and has become a quality American diner now called Hooper 's . Next door is a friendly sportsbar grill Club Car Bar that serves bar food from the same kitchen as Hooper 's. Here you can buy souvenirs...

Seriously not good anymore!! Service was SLOW. Food was less than Meh...like below being just okay or so-so. Once Upon a Time this place was worth mentioning but times have changed drastically for the Worst! New management maybe..I don't know. I do know whatever it is doesn't make me want to go back!

We made a trip to Austin for my 30th birthday and immediately upon touch down we made our way to Kingsland to see Grand Central Cafe because my favorite movie is THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. Firstly, it was beyond words to see this place. I mean, I was literally speechless. Besides the touristy parts the staff was amazing! They were so cool and even gave us some stickers for my birthday and just let us roam the house. I got the **** Massacre which had a warning that it was hot and indeed, it was HOT. Luckily I like spicy so if you're into that, order it!

!!!! This is not Grand Central Cafe anymore!!! Review is for Hooper's. The new restaurant that replaced this one with new owners. Food was absolutely terrible. Traditional eggs Benedict had smoked bacon and smoked paprika on it making it much more sweet than savory. Worst eggs Benedict I've ever had. My sister's biscuit was completely burnt and blackened on the bottom and her sausage was dried out and bland. They didn't have their entrees available because of kitchen remodel. We drove out of our way to get their chicken fried steak and crabs cake Benedict but they removed the crab cake from the menu and could not serve the chicken fried steak. We've had better complimentary breakfasts at Ham...
