"Tonight we were 5 people at the Thai Square restaurant in Basel. This was out second time, the first one already left us with some doubt about the organisation/service very slow, mixing dishes from the starter and the main course, etc. . This time set a new record: after 1/2h we got some dishes that seemed liked to our main course. And when we asked, the answer was just amazing: the starter are not ready yet!?! 1/2h later eg 1h after our arrival, and we ordered within 10 min or arrival , we got our starters. 1/2h later we go part of the rest of our main course. Another 15 min, and the rest of our main course comes, and it is not what we ordered! That was really too much, I requested the bil...

The menu had small symbols for the allergens, but there was a huge lack of variety. Only a dish and a sauce was gluten-free and the waitress was not very soothing for what her Allergen protocol was, but there was also a bit of a language barrier. I got the poke bowl with cherry sauce and it was refreshing, but the tofu could have been cooked more.

This is a review for Thai Square at Clarastrasse, which opened recently. Delicious Thai food and the restaurant has a pleasant service and ambience, very cosy as it was formerly a traditional Swiss restaurant. The chicken satay starter came with a lovely peanut sauce dip. Thai red chicken curry was both spicy and and creamy, fried rice with chicken was equally good. Happy to pay another visit!

We were at the newly opened Thai Square Aeschenplatz. The staff were very friendly, service was efficient. Unfortunately the food was a big disappointment. We ordered a selection of Wan Tan, Dim Sum and Gyoza. The food was overcooked, moist and had no taste. It seems the kitchen tossed the cheapest frozen ready-made dumplings into the frier and then served it. Very disappointing and we surely will not return. 2 Stars because of the friendly service.
