"We are a local family but had never been to the Granary before. Our first impression was that it LOOKS very dated from the paint to the lighting to the broken cane backed chairs. Initially, too, the service seemed very awkward, although as the meal went on, it seems that perhaps that was simply because the server was relatively new there and because the chef was backed up in the kitchen. What was nice is that, while we waited for our main courses, the server came to say that it would take longer than expected and that we should choose another appetizer complementary as a courtesy. We sat outside on the deck from the main dining room. The view was spectacular and the service and the food were also spectacular.

Despite the snowstorm, we made it on the hill! Most of all service, ambience (no look at the night), and food were great. One of our guests ordered the short ribs that were very fat. My trout, my husband's elk, and the scolds of our other guests were excellent. Come on!

Outstanding place. After eating here several times, I came with the same thought.... This place would be the number one restaurant in Jackson if it reinvented the menu. If they brought a better cook and invested more in the kitchen, it would be number one! Still loves it, but food is Bland.
