"What a delight! Sous chef sent over a complimentary appetizer while we were still deciding on our order. All our sushi was delicious! The seaweed salad, house salad and miso soup was great. I only remembered to take one photo! It was as good as the presentation! Chef also brought out a dish (first customers to try it. He made mushrooms with barbeque sauce. It was also delicious! Will definitely be back. Everyone was very friendly and the food was very high quality. We had tamago and my daughter commented that it was very authentic. This place is an intimate sushi restaurant that lives beyond the visual expectations. The sushi is very fresh, service is no bs which is fun. Have never walked out and thought anything less of Food: 5/5

Holy WOW. My spouse and I just moved to Ohio from the Seattle area, and our expectations were somewhat low for sushi in this area nothing against Ohio, but not being on a coast had us a little worried about whether or not it would be as good.I'm happy to say we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sushi at Tougen Japanese Restaurant! The salad and miso soup were delicious and light, and the sushi itself was divine.The service was top notch too the staff were friendly and attentive, but didn't hover. Drinks were topped off quickly, and everyone was warm and inviting. We'll definitely be back to try more sushi and ramen!

My husband was making orange chicken and we needed a side of fried rice. Our local go-to was closed so I placed a to-go for an order of shrimp fried rice with the closest restaurant. My first impression was wow I wished I would have stopped in to order because I would have just walked back out. This restaurant is old and filthy. From the tables to the floors and all the service stations. While waiting I felt triggered to pull up the restaurant report. Instant regret. The service was friendly and I did feel welcomed so I did tip on my almost $14 single order of rice.
