"Chocolate Gravy?. While visiting Batesville in April to attend the Mark Martin Fan Appreciation Days, my husband and I had breakfast at the Triangle Cafe. It is an old school, traditional cafe, the kind I have always enjoyed in my youth, just good food and no pretense. The waitresses are friendly and it is usually packed, which is a good sign. We showed up for breakfast and for less than $5 we had the breakfast special, 2 eggs cooked the way you want them, bacon or sausage, hash browned potatoes and BISCUITS. Very, very good BISCUITS. The waitress asked us did we want chocolate gravy or sausage gravy for our biscuits? This confused me, I wondered if she meant just brown gravy or was it really chocolate? So I opted for sausage gravy, being conservative, I know I like that. My adventurous husband asked for chocolate gravy. The breakfasts we both had were perfectly prepared and the chocolate gravy is chocolate! And delicious! A biscuit dipped into this gravy was rich and decadent. It tasted like an excellent chocolate cream pie filling made from scratch, which it is, as the waitress described the process of preparing it. I plan to return to the Triangle Cafe for breakfast and/or lunch the next time we travel to Batesville. My husband and I enjoy this section of the Ozarks very much, it's very scenic and natural with friendly people. We have been in this area 4 times so far and will be returning!"
