"This place is a hidden gem! I would go here before going to other high end places. The food was perfect and very authentic. The service was fast and friendly too. The prices are more than fair for the portion size and the quality of the ingredients. It feels like it's family run which I like. It's definitely a hole in the wall and has limited seating.Vegetarian options: There is a section of the menu that is just vegetarian options."

"like george and louise jefferson is randy’s donuts a movin at up to other new locations outside inglewood. today's visit offered the opportunity to try a vanilla crumb. a wonderful variation on the classic elevated glaze donut with a crumb topping that melts on the tounge to provide an additional hauch of vanilla aroma. although I have been in the original position several times and knew from the vanille crumb donut, the menu photos do not like it. the new stalls, with walks in facilities (that the site inglewood does not have), allow to overcome their visual insides with a selection of attempts that made me to buy a vanille crumb donut, which I would normally not have bought."

"I came here in a Sunday night, no one was on the counter. I called the Bell for the first time when nobody came, someone said that your food is in the table. I told him I gave a new order, he never came out. Once he asked if there was a new order, I said yes, and the man behind me said no and the guy in the back just went away and never took my order, so I just left. It's not worth ignoring $30."

"We discovered Al Forno a few years ago and have been coming back at least twice a year from San Diego. It is a neighborhood restaurant, with a very pleasant staff and excellent food. The portions are generous and the food quality is excellent, with very reasonable prices. Wednesdays are half price wine nights, with excellent wines at reasonable prices. I recommend Al forno most highly, as a neighborhood restaurant but also as a destination place if you are passing through Costa Mesa in your way further north or south."

"came here for Sunday, everything you can eat. Great. The service was amazing and all the staff we talked about were super friendly. The fajita bar was so good. The Omelet was perfect and everything else on the buffet was delicious. The groundless mimoses were really groundless and they came through refilling. We had a great time to enjoy the food and drinks, and the interior was quiet and quiet, so could have nice conversation. The price was over $30 a person who was a lot! Will definitely come back!"

"Old school pizza We have 2 paprika slices thin crispy crust Nothing beautiful except Yum. But the taste was on point! Super friendly staff. Our first visit and we enjoyed better than some of the gourmet pizzas in the neighborhood. We'll be back."

"Great place for breakfast, but now have a great dinner menu too with full bar, live music, they've changed a bit and was afraid what would happen to the place but its still a friendly neighborhood diner, just a new look i guess."

"We had a dinner for 4 at Water Grill and from checking in with the pleasant host to our awesome waiter, Nial, we had a great time and left very full. We started with a glass of wine at the bar with Diana, who was super friendly and charming. We then transitioned to our table, which was a roomy booth, where were were greeted by Nial. He gave us a full run down of the specials and recommendations. We started with the calamari and it was the best I had ever had. It had a little spice to it that gave it more flavor than most other places. And the dipping sauces were fantastic. We ordered and I and noshed on the warm sourdough bread that was amazing and the salted butter. I had the wild alaskan black cod and it was DELICIOUS. From the slightly spicy broth to the flaky black cod, the slivers of chili gave it an extra kick. We had more win and enjoyed our conversations and the lively atmosphere. We finished with the maple cheesecake and the chocolate ganache cake of suitable sizing to share after a big dinner. Overall, the experience and food was amazing and we will definitely be back even if it's just for the bread and wine! Thank you!"

"I drove through this restaurant for years, which means coming over and recently my wife and I did and I am very happy. This is really traditional Mexican food that I came to love when I moved to California almost 40 years ago, which was usual before, but now is hard to find. It has all my favorites, but I liked the shrimps especially. Prices are also very reasonable. There are several of these restaurants around, but it's not a chain or franchise, it's a family that owns it. My wife went to a Santa Ana near her work and loved the food there as much. Great place to have a nice meal and a few drinks and relax. They have both inner and outer seats. During the dark days of the pandemic we were taken from them to make sure that they stayed in the store and found the exception food as well as when we eat there. I have found that at the popular times there can be a long waiting time to come so if you go on a Friday night, go early."

"The mood was amazing from the beginning, as the place played with energy and great music. The staff was super friendly and attentive with a special thanks Oscar for being fantastic. Last and certainly not least, ever dish was only full of taste, contrast and complement each other beautifully. If you want a delicious Cuban cuisine, you will not be disappointed here. Yum!"

"Our waiter was wonderful, very attentive and pleasant. They don 't make it clear that every item on the menu is separate so when you order a sandwich and a side those are all charged for. Kind of a surprise when the check came. VERY LOUD MUSIC, made it tough to hold a conversation so maybe not a great date place. Communal seating so you may be at a picnic table with bench seating (with no backs to the chairs), so not very comfortable. Meal was amazing though, the veggie burgers are incredible and the tots were to die for."

"Above average barbecue restaurant in Costa Mesa. My experience was mixed. They dice instead of cutting their brisket, making it difficult to eat as a sandwich, especially on a soft Hawaiian role. The Coleslaw I had was vinegar not based Mayonnaise, so it was rather bitter and not my cup of tea. The baked beans were decent enough, but no game for Lucilles. The grill sauce they use is quite good as the taste of the brisket itself. The restaurant apparently does not serve garlic potatoes I love. Would try more articles to my overall assessment. There are also far better barbecue facilities in the area like Lucille's."

"We found this resturant on Yelp. We are all about the samplings that shareable and appetizer menus bring and Oak Coal did not disappoint. We started with the spicy yellow tail and salmon hand rolls that were creamy and tasty, we then moved to the salmon crudo, loved it. We actually added a bowl of steamed rice to have on the side. We shared the seafood garlic noodles and loved it so much we could have kept going. We decided to finish the meal with the Ube Banana Pudding,.... OMG! The pudding was a phenomenon all on its own. We had drinks, I will say the drinks are quite pricy for the amount for the amount you get. But still tasty. We will be returning."

"Xena, our server, made this visit so wonderful. The point is loudly the most time I know. The cartridges go for the drinks and then the food, I think? The flavors are quite wild, but the drinks are so well made. Also, Xena explains to us every time we have a question about ingredients and preparation. Everything went pretty smooth and the decor is quite shockingly cool."

"While I was here a few times for dinner, I took some friends who hadn't been brunch there before Sunday, what I had tried. we had reservations, but it was full! we had the hugging and wagging, the pulled pork sandwich, the filled French toast and a traditional speck, egg and toast. I never had a bad eating there, everyone enjoyed their choice! service was good, and we let them know that we had to go for a show, and we came in a lot of time. the music was too loud, and if that is the norm on Sunday, I will ask to sit outside. Thank you. I'll be back!"

"Had the 10oz. Filet mignon (no picture at medium rare. Perfectly done and very soft. Came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Opener was a wedge salad with bacon/pork belly. Dessert was crème brûlée, chocolate mousse cake and possibly a butter cake (didn’t try the 3rd option."

"Previous review 5 stars: Potato tacos 10/10, guac 8.5/10, baja Mahi Mahi taco plate 9/10. Service 10/10. Atmosphere 6.5/10. They have tables outside! Now I'm saddened to say 1 star. I have ordered countless times and had been doing online orders. Recently my parents have gone 3 times in person and the employees are unapproachable. There was only one other customer present and the employees can't make eye contact, repeat the order for you. Missed items. Rude. This is such a shame. The food is delicious but just skip this location. HB here we come."

"I met a friend for lunch, he's not vegan, but interested. So I was super happy to help me navigate the menu and I help him try more of the vegan options. I will just say that the service staff is amazing! they were so through everything to make sure our order is correct before they leave the table and verified everything was vegan. so helpful with suggestions and even my soy sauce, edgy mix poured over the ingwer to show me the conditions they recommend. service was excellent from beginning to end. eat it! we started with a simple cold gurken dish with sesame oil and soy sauce, it was very mild I didn't say spicy at all, it is described as a hauch of spicy, completely exact. this was refreshing and a perfect appetizer. next we served the sawed spinat, which was not the highlight of my life, but was really good and perfectly cooked to make it easy to digest, but still keep the integrity of the leaf. the dumplings came next, and I had never dumped this delicious before. the filling was fillable, tasteful and the fungus combination with jicama and others made it hearty and fill. Last article we enjoyed were the sesame noodles, so good. Next time I save space for desert! funny story as I wrote that called a customer of me and I mentioned how I took the executive lunch yesterday, he asked where I went. he and his wife are great fans of din tai and he makes a reservation for next week."

"While visiting family we tried this highly reviewed restaurant. At first it appeared to be as great as advertised until we received the food and drinks. I started by getting this cold brew coffee with chocolate and coconut. They put so much coconut in the drink it became a mushy mess you can't drink. My wife and son ordered the Dutch baby, one of the reasons I picked this place. These guys do not know what a Dutch baby is because the bottom is supposed to be crepe like but instead it was like fry bread. My son could barely cut it with his knife. My other son ordered a sweet potato hash. Again not sure where they went to culinary school but hash is like hash browns. This was sweet potato baby food. It looked nasty and other than the bacon did not taste good either. The bright spot of the meal was my meal which was eggs, lemon and blueberries pancakes, and meatloaf. The meatloaf was delicious but small for $20. Overall will not return to this place as it is not worth the almost $140 I paid for breakfast."
