"The first time here. I love places that have a solid family history. We have the poor steak sandwich for what they are known for. What makes this different is the garlic butter that it is applied to the meat, not the bread. Unlike garlic bread, which can be unconsistent taste, this taste is consistent. It's a party in your mouth with every bite. We didn't get anything to get the full taste of the 6 oz round steak. Next time I add the mushrooms. They offered cheese, onions or mushrooms. It comes with thin-cut pimples. I have to say it adds a nice note when considering that I'm not in the Pickle Fanclub. The sandwich is a beautiful size and will make me 2 meals. I ordered fries and my husband ordered onion rings. The Pommes were common, the star was the onion rings. The presentation was appealing, they were crispy and beautiful light rings. They can bite through the onions, perfectly cooked. I hate to bite in an onion ring and the whole thing comes out. It is served with Ranch Dressing. Our friends recommended the double-baked potato. It was good, but I think it really wasn't with that sandwich. But my husband enjoyed it. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, the service is very good and attentive. The onion rings are expensive, but worth every penny. This restaurant was forever and does not need my review, but they have a great place, and we need to spread the word! We'll drive 60 miles and we'll be back!"

"I have to consider this place just okay or not bad or maybe even a tad better than that. But not much. Their food is okay. If they were the only place around (or even the closest) I might go there more often. Or even if they served some unique stand out item. But for the standard hot dog joint fare they offer, there are plenty of better choices around. And just about every time I go there, they 're mopping their floor. The smell of the chemical cleaner they use is way too strong to dine in (my lunch hour is 11am 12pm). So I order take away. I guess what keeps drawing me back are the fries. I wish they made all their stuff as great. I had the beef sandwich today. It was good, but a little bland. Windy City Grill, Rosati 's, and Fat Ricky 's all have tastier ones. Even Pop 's is slightly better. And the sweet peppers I ordered (and paid extra for) were way too crispy (undercooked). Ended up throwing them away. I probably only come here once every 4 6 months (though I dine out about 3 days a week). Keep hoping their food has improved, but it never does. But again, the fries are always tops. Seemed a little pricey though. $10 something for a Beef Sandwich special which included the fries and a small (as in tiny small, not like a McDonald 's small) Pepsi (kind of like the Styrofoam cup you get when you order a small rice pudding from a Greek restaurant, seriously, THAT small)."
