"First and foremost, 'Hot Fish ' lives up to its name. We decided to try the Grilled Fish (Basa Filet) with some tasty add ons like potatoes, tripe, spam, king mushrooms, and duck blood (they offer plenty of other options to choose from too). The fish arrives sizzling hot, perched on a continuous flame to ensure it stays piping hot throughout your meal. We opted for medium spice, but be aware that they follow the Szechuan scale, so what we considered medium turned out to be quite fiery for our taste buds. Next time, we might go for the mild version, but I suspect it will still bring a flavorful kick. The fish itself was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, and the sides were equally delightful. However, if I had one minor gripe, it would be that I wished there were more duck blood. Lately, I 've developed a taste for how duck blood pairs with Szechuan style fish or hotpot, and I was a tad disappointed whenever I thought I had found duck blood, only to realize it was spam (although, to be fair, spam is undeniably delicious). But hey, that 's a personal preference and might not apply to everyone who dines here. Overall, I give the hot fish a solid 5 star rating. There aren 't many places in the area where you can find Szechuan styled fish prepared with this level of quality. As for the Pork Wonton in Chili Sauce and Dandan Noodles, I had somewhat higher expectations. I understand that the fish is the star of the show at this restaurant, but these happen to be some of my favorite Chinese dishes, so I was hoping for a bit more power and flavor. I 'd rate these dishes around 3.5 to 4 stars. The interior of the restaurant was quite appealing, exuding a modern Chinese vibe that added to the overall ambiance. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and honest; we even asked if we had over ordered, and they kindly suggested it might be a bit much, but we went ahead with our choices anyway. This resulted in us leaving with a takeout bag we 'll definitely heed their advice next time :D. In conclusion, 'Hot Fish ' offers a vast menu with a variety of dishes. Since relocating from Jersey City, it had been a while since we found a place where you could enjoy spicy fish, lamb, frog, and other delectable dishes all in one spot. It 's certainly a hidden gem in the local dining scene, and I hope to see it continue to flourish over time. We 'll undoubtedly be returning for another visit!"
