"After reading positive reviews, my family and I were eager to try out this new restaurant. This is my 1st negative review having truly enjoyed fine tables such as Five-0 and Northern Union in Ogunquit or Via Sophia in Kbpt. This restaurant is not one I could recommend for several reasons: We ordered 4 items from the raw bar: petite oysters, tuna carpaccio, sea bass crudo and scallops ceviche. The crudo was the best plate we had all evening,it was well seasoned and the tomato water paired well. Both the carpaccio and the ceviche were too vinegary (as if a jar of capers had been poured on the tuna). The oysters never came as no one informed our server that they were out of that item. We enquired about them once the other dishes were done and we were not offered an alternative. With respect to the mains, the wood smoked halibut was lacking in taste, the “blue” filet mignon was at best medium-rare (although the the seasoning was fine). Two of us had mussels as mains. Almost half of them were closed shut or undercooked and the 3 sides of fries we ordered were so salty they we inedible. The side of asparagus was our 2nd best dish of the evening. Our biggest disappointment was the handling of our wine order. My father ordered a bottle of Louis Métaireau Melon de Bourgogne, expecting a dry wine from Burgundy. Although he did briefly taste the wine, we realized once the wine was poured that it was a much sweeter Muscadet Sèvre et Maine (not a Bourgogne). We discussed this with our server who initially offered to bring us another bottle and to comp the first bottle. Unfortunately, the server returned to the table to argue that a Bourgogne is the same grape as a Muscadet, then her manager came to the table and started arguing rudely with my father stating that he had tasted and accepted the wine. We did not dare criticize the food. The owners should be made aware of how poorly trained the wait and kitchen staff are and how poorly supervised the restaurant is in their absence."

"We stayed in the main building, which is not worth anywhere near $600 a night (with taxes and fees). Dirty room, peeling paint on the balcony railings and furniture, tiny bathroom which was not clean, lumps and wirnkles in carpet, marks and stains on wall and furniture. Front desk agent was nice, but knows nothing about the area and is not helpful at all. We checked out early due to our bad experience, and all she could say was you still have to pay for tonight. Geez. Please read on....Breakfast was appalling. The hard boiled eggs were days, if not weeks, old. They were so rotten that they smelled horrible and were squishy and falling apart. I brought this to the attention of the front desk agent, who seemed to be the only person responsible for setting up breakfast. The only other breakfast options were all carbs one type of bagel, one type of muffin, and one type of cereal. There was no protein available, nor any drinks other than orange juice and coffee. Ice water would have been a welcome option. Also, breakfast is supposed to be from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, but we went down at 8:15 am, and noticed several other guests still waiting for the breakfast area to be set up. There was no seating for people to eat either, since the dining area was blocked off. People had to sit at the bar to eat. This was by far the absolute worst continental breakfast I have ever seen in 40+ years of traveling, and was shocking at a hotel that charges as much as this one does. They should not even offer breakfast. Also, our guest room was, for lack of a better word, sad and in need of some TLC. It appeared reasonably clean in some spots and dirty in others, but the carpet had several lumpy spots in desperate need of stretching or replacement, the walls were full of marks from years of things being bumped into them, the furniture was knicked up, the bathroom was very tiny and not very clean. The balcony, which was a big selling point for us, seemed more like the landing of a fire escape in Brooklyn. It was cramped and dirty, with years of peeling paint on the railings, two old and uncomfortable small wicker chairs, and a small, heavy, awkward table with badly peeling paint. The balcony was directly over top of the restaurant/bar roof, so it lacked any sort of charm or ambiance, and was not enjoyable due to all the noise coming up from the bar and restaurant (this was a Monday night). The front desk agent, while nice, was not at all helpful. She could not recommend any restaurants in town or activities for us to do. She was hardly ever at the desk, it seems that they are understaffed and she has too many jobs to do. We checked out a day early and lost money, but stayed that night at a Courtyard that was head and shoulders above this place for only $150 a night.THE GOOD POINTS we had lunch from the restaurant and it was delicious. And the macarons we ordered to have waiting in our room were outstanding. The valets are helpful and parking is easy. That 's about it."

"Came here for a maine a few weeks ago for my people (who have now moved to Florida) and forget to add a review as better late as never! They took my father and gave him a comfortable chair, as he had some problems sitting on harder surfaces (we were outside). Despite a waiting period, we had a pretty decent experience. My mother and I shared the steamers (both agreed that these were some of the best we had), not gritty or sandy at all and perfectly cooked. My father had the lobster pot he liked. My first lobster role of my fiancée was well enjoyed along with a Cheeseburger (only in case he didn't care about the lobster). Both my mother and I have the lobster role. I noticed in some reviews how a few people complained about the lobster roll only come with pimples and chips, it's just my humble opinion (and all my opinions are humble), I find when a place makes a good enough lobster roll, you don't need much more. Really! If the meat is cooked perfectly and it is not dosed in Mayo when the role holds, if every bite has the same ratio of lobster and bread, I will be a happy camper. Everything else is just a cherry. Relatively, it is even cheaper than Reds or even Robert's Maine Grill. After working on the latter for two summers and having made easy over a hundred lobster rolls in my position, I found their perfectly full of meat, simply enough Mayo, and the small **** of paprika on the top reminded me of the roles I enjoyed when visiting the downeast. The role itself was perfectly throttled and locked, as we know, there is nothing worse than a soggy role! We shared blueberry and apple cake for dessert that is homemade, and you can really say the difference when something is bought in/if it is not. I will say their blueberry cake is worth trying and getting it with a vanilla shovel is so happy at the end of a meal! Overall, this was a pretty good experience. Our server was friendly enough and we have our food without any problems. I think I could try a real lobster dinner next time. It's cash just so make sure you're prepared (you only have an ATM if you forget)."
