"Keep with me because this review is a little long! It starts on an acidic note, but I promise it will be better! We live on Mike's street and we were so excited when they first opened. We love to support small businesses, so of course we went one month or two after they opened first. It was so terrible. So soooo bad. Then you get the bill and you're still crying on the inside because it's crazy expensive and you've made better chicken parmesan in your own kitchen and you're not even so good from a cook. And the bread was rolled up pizza dough and flattened in sticks, almost? It was terrible. Well, a few months later, I'm looking at the community page on Facebook. (Knightdale Community Information is quite entertaining, but this is another story. Someone totally fled over Mike. I hopped there and immediately asked if they actually have taste buds or what. Mike has a new cook and the food was fabulous now. Last night, after a lot of conviction, I got my husband and son in the truck and we went to the long drive of about 3 minutes to give Mike's another attempt. We moved up and it's at 7 pm at this time and there are only two other parties. I started getting a little nervous because I starved and I got quite a slope and I was afraid our food would be unusable again. Our waitress comes out (Claudia, I think?) and she was wonderful. Very patient with my very excited 5 years old, who was so happy that he would be able to get pizza after I had shot this idea earlier on the day because we had just pizza the night before. We made our orders, man ordered the Shrimp Scampi, the child obviously got pizza, and I ordered the cheese ravioli. (Yes, yes, I don't know very adventurous, but I was still skeptical about our last visit. Bread and salads come out. It was really BREAD! Warm, tasty, obviously no pizza crust. Bread! I'm sorry, I love bread. Then we get our entrees. My son's pizza was huge! He got it from the children's menu for about 5,50 and it was delicious. (Yes, I stole a bite! My husband's scampi was good. There were at least 7 shrimps and they were huge. They were also delicious. The court had a little more lemon than my husband would like, but overall it was still good. For 14.99 it was really reasonable because of the huge shrimp he arrived there. My cheese ravioli was amazing. The sauce in which they were was soooo good. It was a tomato cream sauce I believe. Anyway, it was amazing and if I could, I would take a gallon from this house to put it all up. My court was 10.99, I think. The portion sizes were generous. If I hadn't been starving, I would definitely have taken some of my food home. My husband and son brought the rest of their house for lunch today. When the bill came, I didn't sleep quietly in my eyes. It was $38.00(before the tip or somewhere around. And as I said, the man and our son have taken some of their food home, so was lunch for the next day (Score! The food was amazing, the staff was great, I would say that was a successful retry! Now that I write this review, I will seriously take care of the dinner tonight to try something more adventurous than the cheese ravioli, as the new cook clearly put it down. Absolutely try it! Even if you were already there and weren't impressed by their food (like us. I'm so glad we made it. This new cook really helped turn this place around!"
