"The food is really good and cheap. We just had an experience where my wife and my sons came out of food. You ordered sandwiches and I got a pizza. Anyway, something happened in the back, which led the pizzas to secure themselves. I told the server it wasn't a big deal. Things happen. My wife and son had to eat for a few minutes before my food came. She apologized and told us the whole meal would be composed! Absolutely unnecessary, but really nice. We ate here about five times and will go back."

"Twar was waiting a bit... the place was with people this morning. But man, it was worth it. When I said that a place was my favorite breakfast in the past, I'm sorry, but it's just because I haven't eaten here yet. I had my usual cookies and Gravy, two eggs sunny side up with coffee and one side of Jalapeno-Bacon... but this order was anything but usual. It turned me into a breakfast type is what it did. The man was delicious. Someone in the kitchen knows what they do (in contrast to the packers against the Vikings opened for their season this afternoon). My daughter had a standard aid of eggs, toast, hash browns and sausage, while her college roommates enjoyed a healthy order of the stacked French toast. We'll be back here, regardless of the waiting time. It was worth it. I'll tell you, friend... wait for it. Just wait for her!!!"

"Sometimes I'm not sure what I'm more excited about: my birthday or anniversary or the fact I get to eat at the Waterfront. Nothing makes me as happy as knowing I'm about to experience impeccable service, exceptional food, and an elegant surrounding. The menu allows me to experience food I've only ever seen on the Food Network. The first time I tried escargot I wanted to scream with delight. The servers are amazing- they are all extremely knowledgeable about the menu and can even pronounce everything properly (haha). Before you even enter the building, you're greeted by the warm lights wrapped around the trees and the fountain. Inside, the decor makes you really feel like a VIP guest. But what really matters is the food- and the chefs hit the mark. With proteins perfectly cooked, vegetables re-imagined, sauces perfectly balanced, soups that taste like they have a million layers, and specialty creations like avocado gelato that makes you actually stop and think about what you're eating, I will look forward to every birthday or anniversary for years to come as long as I am lucky enough to dine at the Waterfront."

"Honestly almost hate to review and give away our secret place...but the staff deserve it. From the time we are greeted at the bar with spot on wine recommendation to the time we leave the restaurant we are treated with the best service in La Crosse. I get such a kick out of my 'hunter husband ' saying 'this meal is to die for ' every time we go there. The prime rib with gorgon zola crust and medallions were literally the best meal we have had in a long time. Call ahead for a booth for the ultimate intimate dinner. Our favorite hidden gem. Thank you Dewey..waiter and the amazing bartender for getting us into a booth and new favorite wine!"

"I've come my whole life on the mast. grew up on this lake and it really has a special place for my family. I chose my high time here (8/14/21), my parents had their high time reception here 40 years ago, and both my older brothers also held their reception here. it's such a beautiful place and it was without a doubt that I would have my own high time here. my only compliant function works with her event coordinator, she didn't seem to document any of our email exchanges. I sent a follow-up email 2 months before our high time and she was from the city. I was contacted by another person to inform me that they have not documented any of our meal selection when I received a confirmation email per month before what we decided. that disturbed me, so I planned a last session a week before our high time, only to check, all details were clearly documented and no ask. our day went perfectly without doubt, the staff was great, our ceremony space was perfect. we hadn't asked for anything. we still get compliments from our guests how great the food was (all meals, from vegan steak!) and how fast everyone got their food! I will recommend the golden mast to also deal with our hiccup with their event coordinator."

"I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I have dined here a few times before and the service and food were always outstanding. However, this time was a complete letdown. We made a reservation after a recommendation from the UW La Crosse department, but when we arrived, they had forgotten to write it down. We were seated at a dirty table in the bar area, and the overall cleanliness of the floors and bathrooms was subpar. It took 35 minutes for our drinks to arrive, and our food took 1.5 hours to be served. When it finally arrived, the food was cold and the baked carrots were undercooked. I felt sorry for our waitress who was doing her best to rectify the situation, but the bartender was extremely rude. Two men who were seated behind us even left after he failed to make their drinks. One of the girls working there had to step in and make the drinks herself. To top it off, another girl behind the bar was seen vaping. This experience was a major disappointment and I will not be returning."

"Buzzard Billy's came recommended by the bartender at Pearl Street Brewery just up the road and boy did she know what she was talking about! From the time we walked in the door to the time we walked back out the door, the experience was top notch! Service was genuine, friendly and welcoming and the food was out of this world delicious!! Hubby had the Cajun Combo with the addition of dirty rice and he was blown away by all the flavors and portions! We've been to Louisiana and didn't have food this good, these folks totally know what they're doing! I had the Ca C'est Bon (Saw-Say-Bon) and I swear it was the best meal I've ever had in my life! The Cajun catfish is phenomenal and the sauce that the fried potatoes soak in is worthy of awards! The bread is a slice of heaven, all buttery and crunchy, fresh and soft but that corn... wow... what's with that corn... so good!! There are two other locations of Buzzard Billy's, both on our travel map journey if we're ever in the area. I sure hope we get back to this location some day because I will forever crave this meal!"

"We showed up a little early and the staff found us a place at the bar to have drink while we waited. It's a habit of ours. The bar let us know they were busy and promised to get to us soon as possible and soon they did. Great drinks, great prices and staff kept us informed. When our table was ready the waitress was quick and helpful. Made a special arrangement for my wife and soon we had our salad and soup. The New England clam chowder was excellent, full of veggies and clams. Wife said her Caesar salad was terrific. Wife had a Ribeye and I had fillet and scallops. All was top notch. One of the best dining experiences we've had. Prices were better than we expected. We will make the drive back from Eau Claire again to enjoy Diggers Sting and the staff."

"If you like 1/3 your plate of fat come here. We ordered the ribeye which is one of the most expensive plate on the menu and got a thin piece of meat, a hunk of fat, and a potato the size of my face. For the price- go elsewhere. I was then disappointed when I complained about my plate and they gave me 50% of my plate but then continued to charge my card full price for everything. Manager came by and then gave me a 3rd receipt for a discounted price. What customer service is this?! This place shouldn?t call themselves a stake house. My partners meat was chopped up into bite size pieces, for what purpose did they give me a steak knife for? And it was smothered in sauce. Save yourself the time and money. Skip it! On top of it all- it was my birthday and they didn?t bring me ANYTHING to celebrate. Such a disappointment. Don?t listen to the hype."

"Good Stuff. I had the Pho (house special), and it was real good. While the place looks like a funeral home on the outside, according to my spouse, I think the building once was a credit union. The restaurant's decor is nothing special; in fact, the place is a bit dumpy. Nevertheless, the food was real good, the woman working the counter was nice, and the kitchen staff did a fine job with making me a good meal. <br/ <br/ I guess my only reservation about Hmong Golden Eggroll is that they don't really have anything Hmong on the menu, perhaps the eggrolls. The menu seemed like a hodgepodge of southeast-Asian cuisine."

"I was in La Crosse visiting my spouse who was deployed to Fort McCoy. We have an inside joke in our relationship about Hang on Sloopy so we thought it would be a lovely place to share our final dinner together before I had to go home again. The food was great, but the staff was truly amazing. After hearing our story, they insisted that the bill was on the house. It was a beautiful gesture during what was a very bittersweet moment. "Kramer's is the most under rated restaurant/gathering spot on the south side of La Crosse. The prices are low, the service impeccable, and the food is outstanding!Seriously where can you go and get two sodas and a 16 inch pizza and walk out for less than 25 bucks including the tip? "Superb little restaurant. Not quite hole in the wall but very quaint, and since I had been craving something more fresh after being in the la crosse area for a bit, this satisfied my wishes completely. I had shrimp tacos and they were delicious. Very very good beans and rice and also, the chips and salsa were excellent. My husband got carne asada which was also a great choice. Will be back, and the menu variety was excellent as well. In particular, I would return for breakfast since I have yet to find a place I’ve been very pleased with. As someone who seeks a clean and detailed restaurant along with delicious food, this place had it all. 10/10 for cleanliness."

"So almost none of the items are naturally vegan, but you need to ask for a separate menu to see the vegan options. It is quite a lot to take only the non-vegan things out of the existing courts. I HIGHLY recommend the Bruschetta (I think that could naturally be vegan, triple roasted French fries without cheese and horseradish sauce (they are better than normal fries!). There is a spaghetti dish that usually has shrimps and parmesan in it (just make sure that the waiter does not put them in, but it is so good without this anyway! You have to put Frankenstein together these articles, but I promise you it's sooo worth it. Do not go where you expect a cheap meal, it is the fantastic restaurant in the city. But, Happy Hour has $5 appetizers, so it's cheap, and the Fritten and Bruschetta are there."

"I've never eaten inside the restaurant but I have tried their food via takeout, hence my review is solely based on the food that I ordered. I decided to order their Prime Rib Philly because I figured it would be something that'll still taste okay after lightly reheating if I needed to, and it sounded really good on the menu. The sandwich itself, in my opinion, is technically not a Philly. It's more of a Philly inspired prime rib melt dip sandwich. First and foremost, overall the sandwich was bland. And yes, the sandwich did come with au jus to add extra flavor, but the au jus was too aggressively salty. So I ended up with two ends of the flavor spectrum. A bland sandwich and a super salty dip. Philly's are not traditionally served with au jus, therefore this immediately disqualifies the sandwich as a Philly (in my opinion). I felt that the mushrooms did not add anything flavor-wise to the sandwich and was unnecessary, the onions were nicely fried though. I would have preferred cheeses traditionally used in Phillys, such as Cheese Whiz, Provolone cheese, or American cheese, instead of Swiss cheese, which again disqualifies this sandwich as a Philly (in my opinion). In theory, a prime rib Philly may sound good, but it lacks the well marbled fat found in a rib-eye steak, which is what is traditionally used in a Philly. I also felt that the meat was cut too thick. The sandwich came with fries and was okay, nothing special. Had high hopes for this sandwich, and I really wanted to like the food, unfortunately it did not meet my expectations."
