"I purchased tickets online for their ice bar this evening and when we arrived there were only a few people there (to be fair, it was 1 degree out . We checked in at the bar and the bartenders explained the process to us (1 complimentary drink per ticket, there is indoor porch seating as well as fire pits and cabanas with little fire pits in them that are “first come first serve” . We scanned the porch area which looked full, so we walked over to the cabanas, 1 one occupied and 2 were empty so we went and sat in one of them. About 35-40 minutes later, one of the bartenders came into the cabana and told us that we needed to leave because someone had reserved it for the evening, but that the other two were open for us to use. I questioned why we would need to leave this one if the other two were open and they are exactly the same and the only explanation he could give me was “oh well this is the one they booked”. My fiancé, who is not one for confrontation, said we could move to the other cabanas, well turns out they were both filled with people. I have found no where on their website that the cabanas could be reserved, and even so, why weren’t we told that one was reserved for later so we could have sat in the other one that was empty? If I had to guess I’m assuming the people who got our cabana paid an extra handful of cash to get in there since it was so cold out and he just happened to choose our cabana to kick us out of. Totally disappointing, I’ve come to the Baker House many times and have recommended to many. We spent more time driving for a nice evening out than we actually did at the ice bar. I’ve reached out to the manager and am awaiting a reply, but until then I can’t in good conscious recommend anyone to do business here."
