"I hate to give bad reviews. I almost never do, even when I have a bad experience because every business has bad days, and I 've worked at nearly every position in restaurants. This case was just so disappointing, and I want to warn others just in case they decide to make the drive like we did. My family has been trying to eat at every local pizza spot in the greater north Austin area this summer to support local businesses and because we LOVE pizza. I drove 35 minutes one way to get pizza TO GO from this place and arrived 50 minutes before close. There was a man sweeping by the door as I walked into the pub, and I asked him if we still had time to order, which he responded yes. There were a few people still drinking and eating inside, so I thought we were good to go. I wave my family inside so we can all wait together for the pizza and walk towards the counter. As I approach the counter, the guy behind it turns around and sees me and my family and says loudly enough for us all to hear you gotta be freaking kidding me and throws his hand towel down on the counter. I immediately turned around and told my family we were leaving, and we walked out and went 5 minutes down the road to Via 313, where they welcomed us kindly, and we had great food and drinks. The problem was how rude the guy was. If they would have told us it takes 45 minutes to make a pie and I know they closed in 50 minutes, I would have told them not to worry about it and we will come back earlier next time. I also would have understood the frustration if we came in 15 minutes before close, but we came in 50 minutes before close. It 's also odd for a pub to close at 9:30 on a weekend in the first place, but that 's a whole different issue. ? Anyways, I 've worked in many kitchens and would have never acted this way about someone coming in at any time much less 50 mins before close. It was almost like clock work that people would come in 30 mins before close and that was just part of the job. If they want to close earlier, change the business hours so people don 't go out of their way for nothing."

"Tried it for the first time 2 weeks ago. It kept popping up when I looked for new spots and maybe the pics were misleading but I just kept skipping it. One day I was really craving some fresh chicken and I decided it was time. I ordered a three piece tender, which comes with fries and a fried pickle. That day changed my life. Top tier fried chicken. Their lemon pepper is AMAZING. Within 2 weeks i 've now eaten here 3 times. So let 's talk about it. What I like: Their chicken (the texture, the batter, sauce options, quality. Their lemon pepper sauce! Their ranch. What I don 't mind: Their fries . What I don 't like: Their pickles, their buns. Depending on how you like your chicken and what sauce you get their sweet pickles and buns may be off putting to you. I feel like the sandwich could have been a bit more memorable, maybe a slaw or signature sauce... Their fries are like fried potato wedge pieces and are good but it just depends on your preference. Sometimes they 're crispy and sometimes they 're a little more potato ish. Either way they 're not bad. And the cajun fries are good but I think I was allergic to a spice in them because my lips had a strange vibe afterwards. As far as the establishment goes, the food is made to order which is great. They are pretty quick to cook everything as well! The staff is friendly and I love the small colorful setup. There are picnic tables out front. There are also lots of daiquiri options. But overall the chicken is my favorite part!"

"After living in Leander for a few years, we finally decided to come into this much raved about place. Our intention was to inquire and if possible order a customized cake then eat some goodies. Our whole family came along on a weekday afternoon where there was only about 3 patrons in the store eating at two separate tables. The staff were pleasant and nice but told us that they were not able to accommodate our cake request as they need weeks in advance order and we only had a week. This has not been a problem for us in the past but here we are in Leander so we accept the fact that they are busy since there is not much competition around. Then as we were looking at all the baked goodies, our excitement quickly faded away as we saw flies hovering ALL OVER all the displayed baked goods out in the counter. And all I could think off is where have these flies been prior to landing on those items? This is highly unsanitary and won't even pass inspection standards in many other places. Then the staff were pushing some few days old super dried baked goods. Really?! You shouldn't be even selling those yucky goods anymore or donate them BEFORE they actually become unpleasant to eat. We just wanted to walk away but my little kids insisted on something so we decided on the refrigerated section with hopefully no fly surviving that temperature. My daughter chose one cupcake. By the time I had to pay for this one cupcake, it was $7.00! Are you freaking kidding me? So I decided to take a bite from it and here I am writing this review. I do not know if the overpriced not great tasting cupcake experience was better or worse than the flies swarming all the baked goods?! I won't be returning. There was also nothing that was really healthy gluten free, vegan stuff. I guess it has great reviews to date because the area it serves has pretty low expectations and there is not much competition around."
