"This is the best Indian restaurant I have ever visited! I cannot praise this place enough. If you enjoy Indian food, this restaurant serves all the classic dishes as well as some unique ones. The service here is excellent as well. The owner is a very kind man who clearly loves what he does, which explains why he has been in business for 22 years! I highly recommend checking it out, but be sure to make a reservation as it tends to get busy. I would give it 5 stars, but please note that it is not fully vegetarian according to Happy Cow's rating system."

"The BEST chocolate I have ever had! There are so many things to love about Madison Chocolate Company. The store is a little slice of heaven. Some of my personal favorites include the peanut butter covered chocolate and the coconut. The affogato is the best I’ve ever had, featuring divine Jenni’s ice cream. You can’t go wrong with any of the espresso drinks or the hot chocolate. Everything I’ve had here is a delight. The store interior is beautiful. A charming oasis on Monroe Street!"

"Addendum: I received a call from the owner and was made aware the employee wasn?t supposed to charge me for anything, due to it being a store credit based order. The owner, Dan, assured me I?ll be refunded and the situation was rectified. I appreciate the prompt response and great customer service provided to me by the owner. I?ll be ordering from there again in the near future. This place is a joke. I received a store credit, as a result of a mistake they made with a previous order placed, and was given a store credit for another sandwich to be delivered to me free of charge. Once, I utilized the store credit, I was then charged a delivery fee. How is that justifiable? I then raised my issue with that and was told all deliveries are charged a fee, even orders paid for with store credit, including my situation. I?ll never order from them again."

"I recently tried the vegan sushi at this restaurant and it was truly unique and elegant. They have clear vegan labeling and offer a variety of options including vegan sushi rolls, appetizers, and desserts. The sushi was beautifully presented and creatively made with ingredients like paprika, zucchini, and tofu. It tasted gourmet and was definitely worth the praise. I also tried the vegan key lime cake for dessert and it was delicious. I would highly recommend trying their vegan sushi for a special dining experience, but for more affordable options stick to a traditional sushi spot."

"the dinner was very good. our server crates was impeccable and yet very friendly. sea bass was great, filet was great, seafood trio had only one clam and two garnels. very tasty, but a bit meager on portion size. the ambiente was very warm and personal. in any case will eat here again."

"We shared the Mediterranean appetizer platter and the Mediterranean Grill platter. Everything was delicious, especially the stuffed mushrooms and the Bruchetta. The lamb chops and orzo were amazing. For dessert, we had the Strawberry Napoleon, which was wonderful with crispy layers and a perfect cream filling. Our server, Alice, was fantastic, offering great suggestions and providing consistent service. We would prefer to sit on the outdoor patio next time as the attic room we were in was a bit stuffy and got louder as more people arrived. We will definitely be returning!"

"Very good soft chicken Tacos! Fresh, flavorful and ample fillings. The second menu item was delivered as a ground beef (instead of shredded beef) quesadilla with a liquid cheese sauce (not melted cheese topping). Although still a totally edible meal, just not what was ordered or expected. Nice beer selection, all drinks seen being served looked refreshing and delicious. It was very chilly inside, the outdoor temp was 37°, and inside felt like 50°. The ambiance is definitely hole in the wall , but it was clean in appearance. Seating was adequate and in good repair. Tables, booths in the back dining room,, and an 8-10 bar stool counter in front with a few tables booths in smaller front entrance dining area. The cook and waitstaff know how to hustle, food was delivered within 12 minutes of ordering. The other large customer table showed the steamy hot bowls of some soups and sides of rice that were added. It looked and smelled wonderful. Will definitely return! Small parking lot, shared with ajoining business, parking might be difficult at certain meal times."

"Fresco will be missed in the Madison culinary scene. It was one of the best restaurants in a city with many contenders. We went on its final day for one last dinner. The food was superb, especially the corn soup, NY strip steak, chicken, and flourless chocolate cake. The entire staff is always friendly and professional, and their last day was no exception. We ate outside on an unseasonably warm evening, so it was quiet. Prices were always reasonable for well-prepared meals using excellent ingredients. Best wishes to all of their staff!"

"10000000% the best place to get pizza in Madison (specifically this location!! . Everyone is super friendly, pizza is always done perfectly, they remember your name which is ALWAYS a huge thing at any business. Out of the countless times I’ve ordered, only once was there an issue (wrong topping on half and what did they do?? Told me to keep the pizza and we’re making another one for me to correct it. Didn’t even have to bring it back to “prove” what happened. Excellent staff, you can tell they actually care."

"I am thoroughly impressed with a local restaurant. The staff at Swagat are extremely friendly. I visited the restaurant for the first time today and they generously gave my one-year-old son a free smoothie and ice cream for his birthday. They even brought our food out to the car. Their customer service is exceptional! The food was amazing as well. They have definitely gained a loyal customer in me."

"We recently dined at Famous Dave's during the first week of restaurants being allowed to open at 50% capacity. The management took advantage of the closure to remodel the restaurant, adding more comfortable booths. The entry and ordering area has been redesigned with social distancing in mind. All staff are wearing masks and we observed frequent cleaning throughout our visit. Silverware, napkins, and packaged wipes are provided in a plastic wrapping for added safety. The food was delicious and served hot, leaving us feeling reassured about dining out with these safety measures in place. While we have also been getting takeout during Covid, we appreciate Famous Dave's for setting high standards and hope they continue to uphold them. Thank you for a great dining experience."

"I was a little apprehensive about coming to L'Allegria for my a birthday dinner with my family after reading some of the reviews. It is unfortunate that others didn't have a good experience here and I am hoping this review will help those who may be skeptical. The restaurant is quite and classy. If you're looking for that kind of experience, give this place a try! The service we had that night was five stars. Our waitress's name was Susan. She was FANTASTIC. I hope if any of you do go here, she can attend to your table. Absolutely excellent. The menu has so many options that sound delicious I really had a difficult time deciding what to get. Everything sounded so delicious. For appetizers we ordered the burrata, octopus special, and warm fig app. I would order all again! The apps were on the smaller side but really delicious. For salads I ordered the eggplant salad. Wow. Might have been the highlight of the night. As an entree I ordered the Bronzino. It was good but I think the apps and salad were better than my entree. However, they had no problem accommodating my requests, which I appreciated! Others at the table orders the salmon special that had sun-dried tomatoes, the zuppa, and the shrimp. Everyone was pleased. Dessert was a home run here. Definitely save room for that! They brought out a desser for my mom for her birthday which was a nice touch. I would definitely come back to L'Allegria for a nice date night or to celebrate a special occasion!"
