"I 've had the opportunity to eat here as a Dine-In Guest, a Carry-Out Guest, and most often as a Delivery Customer. My first visit was as a Dine-In Guest and after ordering the Family Sized, 'Mondo Combo, ' I was certainly taken aback by the price. That was my first visit here, and I didn 't yet realize that as a tourist town so isolated from normal distribution routes, nearly everything available for sale here--from motor oil at the gas station to yogurt at the IGA--has an added 'surcharge ' that is most often added on by the trucking companies that deliver the good here. EVERYTHING is more expensive for that reason, but add to it good old fashioned American Capitalism and any purveyor of goods for sale recognizes you will pay a premium for EVERYTHING when the next alternative involves a 45 minute, 25 mile drive back to Aberdeen. It 's a fact of life here--and in any tourism based, seasonally populated town. So to all the tourists who complain that everything is so expensive here, you 're right, it is...because for the nine months out of the year that there are only 5,000 of us living here, these businesses need to stay in business!<br/ <br/ As a pleasant surprise, when my pizza arrived that first night, it was shockingly large, and in hindsight, worth every penny! The toppings, though complained about by some as being too thick, are actually what I would consider just right. Peppers, for instance, are warm enough to have a slight wilt to them, while retaining their crisp interior. Cheese is creamy and melted, and neither too little nor too much of it is used--a problem common in pizzerias nationally. It was hard to judge the atmosphere of the dining room that night as it was off-season, close to closing time, and so not the 'ideal ' experience. All things considered, especially the helpful, friendly staff, Dining-In was a hit!<br/ <br/ The next time I ordered was delivery, or it was supposed to be, but I discovered that although the restaurant was posting their hours as being open until 10:00 PM that night, they actually stopped delivering (or at least accepting order for delivery) at 9:00 and this was a big disappointment. I hadn 't acclimated to 'Beach Living ' yet and so the thought of not just having what I wanted, when I wanted it, and couldn 't demand it be dropped at my doorstep when I chose was akin to having no indoor plumbing or electricity. (It doesn 't take long living at the beach to reprogram yourself, however, and soon we all take on a relaxed, 'It 'll get here when it gets here, ' kind of attitude which makes for a peaceful and much more stress-free life than most of us used to lead when we lived in the big city. It 's that slower paced, easy-going pace of life in general that brought most of you tourists here as well...so why not relax a bit and take a minute to remind yourself you 're on vacation...at the beach...and then ask yourself this, Just how bad could this be?<br/ <br/ Delivery is my go-to Cook 's Night Off dinner source and I admit it, their pizza is so incredibly tasty that it actually encourages me to be lazy and cook at home far less often. It 's delivered in an hour or less most of the time (to those complaining it 's too slow, feel free to email me directly for a logistics diagram so that I can explain how the lack of patience people have is usually more a case of ignorance to the actual circumstances. Despite usually taking about 45 minutes to reach me, the pizza is always how, includes plates, forks, napkins, 3 cheese blend and hot pepper flakes for the appropriate number of servings. THe crust is a matter of taste of course, but as a published cookbook author and proud Italian cook who has baked hundreds of loaves of bread and likely twice as many pizza crusts, I can assure you it 's perfectly crusty on the outer 'shell ' while remaining tender but cooked on the inside. It 's a truly AUTHENTIC experience and I hope you get the chance to say hello to the owners and staff on your next visit. They 're doing a great job and it often goes unappreciated!"
