"beautiful small place to recover from a day of city sightseeing. they put their order in the register, they give them a number, they find one seat, and they will."

"The 6 short months I had the pleasure of living in Oslo, this was my favorite cafe. It's cozy inside and light and bright for those days of rain and cold, and they also have a charming outdoor brick lined courtyard that shouldn't be missed on those sunny days. The staff is friendly and speaks English very well if you don't speak Norwegian. It gets very busy at lunchtime, but the sandwiches are worth the wait and you can't go wrong with any of the delicious pastries. They also have a rewards card if you'll be in town a while."

"This restaurant received high ratings even though it is titled as a cake place. The cakes were delicious and very indulgent, but the portion sizes were just right. The variety of flavors was impressive, but I wished I had the budget to try them all as the total cost for two cakes was 150 NOK (£11)."

"During our first evening in Oslo, a very helpful desk person at the Bristol Hotel recommended Jaipur for dinner. Plus, we love Indian cuisine. There were other closer restaurants in this Theater District part of Oslo, but she was fairly dismissive of some of what we asked about. Yet, we got good directions down Karl Johan Gate and after a short walk and ascent to the 2nd Floor, we arrived a Jaipur. We were seated and waited on promptly. Looking around the room, we were probably in the minority as far as tourists go. That was great as the locals/ethnic buzz in the room added well to our experience. Our food was very tasty and with generous portions. Dining out in Oslo is expensive, with food, drinks, and tip easily reaching $100 per couple. And we did get our money's worth, although maybe we should have been more adventurous with our Tikka/Curry menu choices (with Naan and Indian beer or course). Service was attentive and payment was up front. As a good meal in a new city goes, Jaipur was a solid authentic Indian choice. But, if you want more local Norwegian cuisine experience, try the nearby Elias Mat Sant."

"Good veg food in a good vibe. AMBIANCE, The place looks good, nice decoration and a well balanced use of wood tones, stone and industrial structure. ACCESSIBILITY. They have taken some measures to improve acoustics but not enough to really counter the open kitchen sounds. They play music, not too loud. It’s all on one floor an has an accessible toilet. Might be nice to ask them to help you with the door when visiting per chair. MENU The menu is regular size and has a good variety of vegetarian options, serving different flavours and kitchens. The order website only works in Nors, no English. FOOD Burger was fine, actual veggies-burger and not an attempt to fake meat. A lot of onion though and I chose this one as I didn’t want a coriander-dish, unfortunately still contained coriander. Portions were not sufficient for a large eater but there’s side dishes. Price wise I cannot judge as everything seems very expensive to me in Oslo. The place does a lot of really good things with chickpeas, keep up the good food! :"

"petit pizzeria the name gave me high expectations. we love paris and we are very curious about eating and feeling (very important! . it felt as if we were on a terrace in paris. only the waiter spoke perfectly English and was very friendly and helpful. more and more we experience that even in paris, but waiters can be rude in paris. not on the brasserie france in oslo. waitress and waitress are very incoming and polite. I love restaurants with this mode operandi. old-fashioned, but that will be modern. the coffee bar order and payand-wait-and-get-it-yourself must be banned from this world, and that will be it. it's irritating. the menu in the Brasserie franc is French (no surprise there that look and feel are also French. we were really happy with the croque monsieur and madame, which tasted exactly the same as in paris (or everywhere in france for this occasion, so it felt twice as a holiday. the quality was excellent, especially the pommes were the best. our new favorite place in oslo. I recommend this brasserie."

"Very unique experience definitely would recommend if you’re visiting Oslo! It’s tucked on a side street next to a beautiful plaza and when you walk inside you’re transported to a different time. I came at lunch and it was fairly packed with locals and tourists. I ordered the shrimp toast and it was delicious!"

"Naan stop happiness is what you will get if you come here for dinner. My husband and I could not be happier with this last minute find!! The service was impeccable! Everyone was so nice, super helpful and created such a beautiful and calm atmosphere. The food was perfect!! I got spice level 3 for my butter chicken and I'm always hesitant, wondering if it will be too spicy, or not spicy enough.... But It was like the chef knew exactly what my taste buds wanted. Everything was so flavorful and the chicken just fell apart so easily. 10/10 on this place"

"it is not so easy to find vegan kimchi, especially not to eat. this place not only offers vegan kimchi, but a whole menu of vegan options. the appetizers were excellent, the most important courses (we have divided various dishes) were good, but not as good as the appetizers. the owner was really extraordinary friendly"

"Super friendly staff, cozy interior, delicious savory and satisfying bread bowls and a range of beers and kombuchas on tap. The vegan options are clearly marked and I think some of the people involved are either vegan or vegetarian. Anyway, the staff really went out of their way to make our visit here nice and memorable. Located in Frogner right by a buss stop, it’s easy to get to. They have seating on two floors, plus outdoor seating as well. Also the prices are quite reasonable. Definitely check this place out!"

"I was doubtful that a restaurant that says at the top of its menu, “Cows are cool” inches away from a boast that its “meat is ground to perfection,” would have a vegan option. But I was happily proved wrong. I like the Beyond Burger, but it’s a nice change of pace to have an actual veggie burger made of veggies. The Vegan Viking is made of smoked eggplant, beans, and portobello mushrooms. The bun could have held a more substantial patty (be warned, it will fall apart) but overall it was a enjoyable, tasty burger. Thanks to the chef who came up with this recipe."

"Usually when I stay in Oslo, I am staying at a hotel that serves some sort of a breakfast buffet. This time I am not, so needed to find someplace to fill that need. (and I didn't want to just do a cafe run). A friend reccomended this place and it was a couple of blocks away from where I am staying so I gave it a shot (bonus was that it's open at 0730 M-F, so for someone jet lagged, it was a great way to kill some time early in the morning) Got in and got seated (breakfast restaurants aren't really a thing in Norway, so it was empty when I arrived). Ordered the fried Brussels sprouts as a snack and the eggs, bacon and hash browns as a main w/ locally made sourdough bread from a local bakery on the side. The food was all presented well and tasted great. The hash browns were less shredded potatoes as puréed, then fried. (still tasted fine) and the eggs were scrambled perfectly with the bacon crisped up and sprinkled on top with some sprouts. The bread came lightly oiled and fried (so no need for butter). The Brussels sprouted were roasted with some peppers and served on top of some aioli. Service was great, food was great and will come back at least one more time before I leave town. Yes, it's pretty expensive (this all ran me $35 converting from NOK to USD) but Norway in general has a high cost of living, so this is on par with any other sit down meal in a comparable restaurant."

"very low prices for a very good experience eating is in order; folkets kebab have a very pronounced taste on their pizza. it was surprisingly beautiful. the portions are very beautiful, it is definitiw the price worth. the dips/clothes have a strange taste, the acid acidic acid acidic acidic dip does not taste like acidic at all. the drinks are reasonable, not too bad. parking is difficult on a day; there are about 4 parking spaces and they are often occupied. the restaurant is beautiful and hygienic. all in all, this is a cheap and beautiful experience with good eating. I would have given the folkets kebab 4 stars if their dips/saucen/clothes were not completely tried. feel free to try it for yourself, I think it is in order when they have starved."

"We went to this place as a request of our daughter, who clearly was attracted to its shiny surfaces, fancy screens in the glass floors of the bathrooms, and tables with fire coming out of them. Do not be tricked. We had some of the worst service ever. My daughter ordered a coke, they brought me a second glass of (terrible) wine and looked at me like I was crazy when I questioned it, we ordered mushroom dumplings, we got scallops. My son dropped his jacket on the floor and the waitress walked by and said your jacket is on the floor instead of being polite and picking it up. When I asked for the bill, she said ill ask someone else to get it for you . It was really expensive and the food was really bad. The tuna sashimi was grey. The bangin broccoli was a gross attempt at tempura with a even grosser mayonaise sauce. It is clear that the restaurant spent too much on flashy interiors and not enough on the quality of ingredients and definitely not paying their staff well enough to write down orders or be polite."

"Delicious food and very friendly and accommodating. Our first waitress had a hard time understanding English and the round of drinks were not quite what we thought we ordered. But they switched the wait staff with someone that could speak English and everything went every smoothly. Highly recommend!!!"

"we took this restaurant because it had a very good rating in google and I must admit the reviews for a real pearl in oslo shown. even it's location and interior is not very captivating, but when I worked in india for some months, I didn't think to judge the restaurant about the rom, chairs and tables, but what and how to eat is prepared; an eating was very authentic and very well prepared, well seasoned. if they like Indian dishes, a very good place to eat or take."

"small for the price, but good philly steak. Absent-minded coworkers ignored me as she waited for a customer to check something at the other end of the restaurant. a simple hi would be sufficient. she didn't know I ordered a big milkshake. pretty sure that my money would have been better spent in any other restaurant in the opposite, as this also costly for norweg."

"Best value for money in the area. The sushi offers good price to quality ratio especially for Norway. All fish was fresh and while the meal wasn't exceptional I've enjoyed thoroughly especially given the price."
