"Remember Date Night? After five months of staying in (99 percent of the time), we decided to try a new restaurant in Palmyra. We?ve been taking short road trips, mainly to get out of the house. One day, we explored Palmyra, and noticed a beautiful old building with the sign ?Cole?s Hearth Room.? I googled it and learned a young couple from St. Louis bought the Old Stone House in order to convert to a restaurant. Sadly, the virus hit, and they pushed back opening until July. How brave is it to open a restaurant during a Pandemic? We went Monday evening. Wait staff was attractively outfitted, and all wearing masks. There is covered outside seating, which is where we opted to dine. And the food? What a lovely surprise. Both our entrees, Salmon with bourbon glaze, topped with fried collard greens and Chicken Marsala, were excellent. Vegetables perfectly cooked. Good wine and bar list. And we met like-minded dining souls on the veranda. On the way back to our car, we introduced ourselves to owners, Coltin and Deirdra, who were adorable. It?s well worth a short trip to experience the fine dining the Coles are offering."
