"The only reason I'm reviewing this place is because the nonstop 5 star reviews are ridiculous. It's obvious that these people are desperate for anything even remotely interesting to flourish in their town. Now that would be fine except when people from out of the area venture here based on the reviews, they're going to find out that the food is average at best. No one who's ever been to Jumbars, Mitzi's Table, Blue Sky Cafe, or the Breakfast Table, all in the Lehigh Valley, would ever give this place more than 3 stars. First issue is the decor. It's much darker now than the pics on Yelp and they've installed a lounge with Victorian inspired couches and a giant TV, perhaps to attract the South Park Goth kids crowd. It's working. I get that they're playing on the death theme but there's nothing sophisticated about it. It looks more like a dive bar than a cafe. I'm down with the loose teas in glass jars lining the wall, but the $2 swap meet cd's and dvd's and skeleton hand flower vases not so much. As for the food, we got a breakfast burrito, French toast, and a tuna wrap. For $3-$5 each, they were perfectly fine. But I can't even say they were well priced because they were all so average. The only notable thing about any of the food was the seeded bread for the 2 slices of French toast. I got the self serve coffee which is not refillable so keep that in mind when comparing this to one of the more expensive places I mention above. We skipped the pie based on the food, especially since there were only 3 choices on the board (one of the pics on Yelp showed closer to ten pies on the menu). I will say the pics of their pies here on Yelp are a million times more interesting looking than anything we saw or ate at this place today. I wonder if they were staged for posting? But I didn't see them til I got home. In fact, it's hard to tell they even sell pie here at all. Anyway, if you find yourself starving in Bangor, you could do worse than Pies to Die For, but don't make a special trip. Grab a sandwich at Wegmans Cafe instead."
