"Originally from the USA, while on a short trip to the Rostock area I had to stop at the Liberty Delis to try their American Style Burger due to the positive reviews. The place itself is just a hole in the wall with only two...high tables to stand outside while eating. There were a good selection of what seemed to be specialty burgers available. I was very surprised to see the frozen patties being used and I would even say they were not beef, possible processed beef products. The burger was large but the taste was of a burger patty from your local supermarket in the frozen food section. The steak fries were also frozen and was not even tasty, I ended up throwing them away. I would presume that all the positive reviews are from travelers that has never been to the USA and had a true American fresh grilled beef hamburger"

"17 Uhr. Zunächst war KEIN faules und rauchendes Personal zu finden. Viel mehr eine nette aufmerksame Allroundbedienung. Vorspeise und Hauptgang wurden schnell und warm serviert. Geschmack ist Geschmackssache. Bauernpfanne top. Steak aux four ok. Soljanka top. Schlemmerragout ok. Kaffee lecker. 18 Uhr satt und zufrieden. Lokal ist nun voll. Reservierung ab 18 Uhr empfehlenswert. Gerne wieder wenn ich in der Nähe bin."

"Having waited minutes after finishing my soup to receive my burger I finally lost patience and walked out. Nobody even bothered to approach me as I left. I was seated beside the cooking food prep area and I would say the steaks being...presented looked average. Sauces were prepared out of packets and many of the meals were inadvertently seasoned multiple times by the staff. Maybe I visited on a bad night. Would definitely suggest you avoid this place"

"it happened to come with my man about this nice and friendly caffe. so glad that we came here- milk coffee was good, the alcohol-free beer was refreshing. they offer freshly baked cakes every day, so we ordered the tasty apfelstrudel after we put the locals in the...and pack them with their delicious cakes. we'll be back tomorrow to try their breakfast tomorrow. Oh, the owner is very friendly. When we wanted to sit, he saw how the previous guests had forgotten their ipad at the table, so he immediately ran after them and returned the ipad."

"We visited the restaurant on a Sunday evening. It was quite busy in the restaurant but we were given a relatively quiet table outside. We were impressed with the friendly and efficient service and the quality of the food. The bruschetta was delicious with fresh...ingredients and all accompaniments. Also the risotto with mushrooms and beef strips was tasty. The restaurant is situated on a good location near the port."

"Really nice and cozy place. A real fireplace keeps the guests warm in the colder months. Absolutely excellent food made from first class ingredients. Everything cooked to the point. The white chocolate cake was the top of a superb three-course dinner. Also excellent wine selection and very friendly staff. Wonderful place all in all, with very reasonable prices for the quality of food, service and place."

"Nice restaurant that gives the impression of serving good cuisine. Unfortunately, the kitchen has prepared scampispies that already spread an unpleasant smell. The superior was completely overwhelmed with my complaint, had to first enquire what to do. As long as the scampisps continue to stink. Then they were finally removed. A word of apology was not part of the style of the house. The rest of the food was fine. The superior might be a little less snorky. After all, a reasonable amount of money was finally required."

"Es war eine gute Wahl hier essen zu gehen. Ich liebe Lokale, die ungewöhnlich sind. Die Bilder an den Wänden, die Stühle und Tische, der Fußboden, die dunkle Tapete, das alles gibt ein ungewöhnliches aber schönes Bild. Toll. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Da gibt es überhaupt nichts auszusetzen. Wunderbar. Leider haben wir 90 Minuten auf das Essen gewartet. Immer wieder wurden Speisen an uns vorbei zu anderen Tischen getragen. Erst auf Nachfrage ging es dann ganz schnell. Toll finde ich, das wir als Entschuldigung eine Runde Getränke bekamen. Danke dafür. Also insgesamt eine volle Empfehlung."

"We were staying about 3 Km and asked at the ibis budget hotel if there were any Restaurants nearby, the Receptionist recommended this Restaurant.Situated opposite the local train station it is an unassuming restaurant (from the outside). Inside it is full of character with dark coloured wooden beams and faiy low lighting.The menu was quite extensive albeit all in German! (I was under the impression that menu's also had to have an English language version within Europe?) I ordered the Rump Steak, this came with Pommes / Frittes / Fries) on a bed of white onions in a thick onion gravy and a small selection of salad stuff. The piece of meat was a good size and cooked just as I had requested.I chose a local Beer, Rostocker Pils which was delicious. German beer has NO chemicals in it so it is pure and you do not suffer any after effects as a result of drinking too much.Desert was Apfelstrudel (Apple Strudel) which came with Ice Cream and fresh whipped cream. To finish off I had a mug of coffee.Total bill for my meal was 34€40 (exclusive of service) inc;usive of 19% Mwst / VAT (UK) Tax (USA)Staff were very friendly and welcoming; between my limited German and their limited English we all achieved what we wanted meal wise.When I go back to this area I will be sure to return to this restaurant."

"Smileys Pizza gehört zu den größten Pizza versorgern der Stadt und das zu recht. Die Pizza kommt schnell und die Lieferanten sind freundlich. "War mehrmals dort und es war ok für'n Abend zum etwas trinken oder was essen, ABER den Ipanema (alkoholfreier Cocktail) ist total überteuert und schmeckt gar nicht, die Spaghetti Bolognese war nicht nichts besonderes und dauerte ewig an einem Nachmittag wo nichts los war.. Das Glas war dreckig mit Lippenstift beschmiert.Es ist ein sehr großes Lokal und daher ist die Geräuschkulisse sehr laut.Das Personal ist sehr schnell und das auch im Vergessen.."

"eating is good, although what is on the menu is not necessarily what ends on the teller. the service is the problem so much personal. all watch one or two waiters working. our antipasti arrived before the aperitif and then nothing happened for the old. when our pasta order was taken, the row of empty glasses should have been a trigger for some more attention, unfortunately, that does not happen. After we've eaten here, we expected more."

"With only a small sign off the pedestrian walk way make the effort to walk down the street and turn left through an alleyway. Dont worry you end up in a nice courtyard with this restaurant located in it. We sat on the patio which was great and I think most of the customers were locals. The prices were significantly lower than those on the main street. The food was great and the service exceptional."

"Yesterday we went to the restaurant. The 5 stars are completely justified, the food really great. Super delicious, well flavored, sometimes not 0815 but really something special. Prices are slightly higher, is completely justified. She justifies the very good food. I've been thinking about whether it's appropriate to design simple paper napkins instead of fabric napkins. But since there was a fresh napkin again at every gear, I didn't find it so bad. A higher quality cutlery would certainly make the restaurant good. Olive oil and fresh bread for the start are a good idea that one can rethink in two, but a dish for the oil can certainly rethink. The selection of good wines was a bit difficult. The waitress couldn't help us. Instead of a recommendation, she reads us alone to think of something else. But this is a high level: and did not harm the visit to Käthe at all.
