"we came only for a glass wee (preferably not vegan), as I discovered their vegan options. the sitting area in the open is very nice and also the interior of the restaurant. the meal times have a high price. I was very surprised at the food quality. I did not expect that in the tourist center of rüdesheim, where they have different customers from all over the world every day. also the region is in the rule not famous for many vegan possibilities. one of the best vegan burgers of all time."

"This restaurant was the best German restaurant my family ever went to while we lived in Germany. We visited for my birthday one year and I would always look for an excuse to drive to Ruedesheim to eat here. A small restaurant with a view of the river and a castle on the other side, like everywhere else in Germany. For our family of 4, we never paid more than 35 euro to eat here. I always had the same schnitzel named Bauern-schnitzel. It comes with fried onions and potatoes, bacon pieces, a slice of ham, and a fried egg on top. The most delicious schnitzel in the world if you ask me. They also have a homemade apple streudel that comes with vanilla ice cream. A small play area for children is a nice added comfort also."

"Booked a table for dinner for our first night in Rudescheim after reading great reviews but failing to get accommodation here and it's a good thing I booked 3 months in advance as this place is very popular! The restaurant was outside in a covered courtyard just off the Drosselgasse, the main tourist street, and was full at 7pm. Being our first night in Germany we all went for the safe option of Snitzel served with french fries it was very good and I would have enjoyed it even more if they had not made it so salty, we discovered that salt is used a lot in restaurant food in Germany and it can be a little overwhelming. Desserts were excellent as was the local Riesling albeit very pricey, €32 for wine made locally. Again we found out that unlike other wine producing regions where you can enjoy the local vintages at usually much cheaper rates this is not the case in the Middle Rhine, however in Breuer's the price included a bottle of mineral water which usually runs at an exorbitant price of €6 to €7 in all establishments. However we really enjoyed the ambience and the great entertainment marking a great start to our holiday but failed to get a reservation for any other night during our stay due to them being fully booked, although you can come later for a drink and enjoy the music, so be warned book ahead if you're planning to visit this local hot spot."

"We stopped here as the cafe opened up on to the road and we had our dog with us. He was made to feel as welcome as us. Service was very efficient, drinks were served quickly whilst we read the menu, which was comprehensive. I chose the wiener schnitzel and my husband the Argentinian steak. The portions were very generous especially mine (2 big pieces). We didn't have to long to wait, which was good as we were waiting for my sister and her husband to disembark off one of the cruise boats. After a walk around Rudesheim we went back for coffee and cake, again excellent though we did have a longer wait as my apple strudel was coming from the main restaurant kitchen."

"I stayed at this hotel for one night on business. This very beautiful, idyllic half-timbered hotel is incredibly beautiful. The town of Rüdesheim is also very beautiful and you can see a lot of beautiful things there. The highlight is the cable car to the stature and viewing point Germania. Rooms: The rooms are modern. Walkability: The hotel is located in the middle of the town of Rüdesheim. Food drinks: The breakfast buffet was very tasty and varied. "This is a restaurant where it is not possible to make a right booking. We tried to make several times a booking but the first time one the crew members did not file it in their agenda. The second time we verified the appointment onsite and even showed the phone and time we called. they denied in front of us that we made a reservation but solution offered and Sunday was possible. We said 19:00 hour. Today they called and ask why we where not in at 17:00. When we tried to talk to the lady who called so was very but than very rude. Not letting the customer tell the story and total no solution offered. Very unfriendly staff and sadly not possible to try their food cause they won’t let us. If you try to make a booking onsite the crew completely ignores you and are not asking if they can help. And if you ask one of the crew straight than they respond irritated and rude. So no referrals for this restaurant at all!!"

"We were here a few years ago and had a lovely lunch on the terrace with magnificent views. This visit was in the evening after being at the Neiderwalddenkmal monument and was another wonderful experience. The restaurant features traditional German decor, dark wood paneling, pottery, and antiques. The food is authentic German cuisine. Many house specialties and different schnitzels. Of course, in this important wine area, great wine choices. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality. We ordered an appetizer, three schnitzels, one flamkuchen, two beers, and four glasses of wine and our bill was 70 euros."

"The exterior of the restaurant is inviting and quite beautiful. At night it looks super. The food was hit and miss. The goulash was excellent, the salad marginal, the snitzel was small and the topping lacking. The fries were excellent. Beware of add-on prices to the meal. If the waiter asks if you want vegetables, bread or rice with your meal, you just added on extra charges if you say yes. They try very hard to get more money from you."

"The place is nice and on a more quiet street. However the service was so bad… First we were told we cannot eat on the lounge side although they had a specific menu for that and other people were having food. Then we were moved twice and finally told we can have food on the lounge side. Then we were waiting for so long to pay, all waiters were just smoking and drinking beer on the street. Finally I had to go pay inside. Also the food is nothing special."

"we needed a break from traditional foods that were visited here. At first we seem to be ignored by the employees, but about the reflexion I think they are more used to take away food. However, the service was good when it went and the dimsum...starter was excellent. had garne in Hoi-Sinus sauce....and in the ground it was not that, but a spicy black bon variation. the broken fish in the Thai curry was a bit overdue, but we left little. a view worth"

"After strolling around the city, my husband and I stopped here for a drink. We sat down outside, the restaurant was half empty. The waiter came empty handed and asked us what we want, we asked for the drinks menu, he gave us a grumpy look and walked away without saying a word. After 10 minutes he came back, still empty handed, and said that if we 're not going to order food then we will have to leave in 20 minutes! Seriously?! In a half empty restaurant they should be happy that people stop by to order something, maybe we would have also ordered food eventually. But being greeted in this way we just said thank you, got up and went to a different place, thankfully there are enough good places in the area."

"My wife and I came to Rudesheim on a Viking cruise. We've been disappointed by the food on board so we went in search of a good meal with local ingredients. Rudesheim is full of tourist restaurants and I found it difficult to tell which reviews were trustworthy. We are SO GLAD we chose Jakobusklause! We each had a seasonal special with the famous local white asparagus in traditional German dishes. Both were excellent. Our server was very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English without condescension. We asked her to choose a wine for us and she chose a lovely riesling from Rudesheim. The only sound was town noise, quiet conversation, and birds (including cuckoos). I can recommend this place without hesitation."

"I fell in love with spaghetti eis years ago and was thrilled to see the restaurant. really delicious and a big part to share big enough for my daughter and I. for those who do not know what spaghetti is. Vanilla ice cream will run a press, so it looks like spaghetti, strawberry topping serves as a marina sauce, and grated white chocolate is the Parmesan cheese. You have to try if you don't. the personal was friendly and service was prompt. many other possibilities if they don't want spaghetti eis. it was a nice night to have eaten on the terrace. in any case the stop worth."

"WE chose this for dinner as they had menu in English. It overlooked the river too so was nice setting. The food was good and reasonably priced. We chose to sit outside and it was very popular. We had rumpsteak with chips and schnizel. We chose to eat there again another night as dinner wasnt povided in the hotel. again the food was good, and the terrace was full. whilst there are lots of eating places in Assmannhausen, many are shut for hols, or only open certain days, so choices can be limited. these were open every day, which is why we chose them."

"Excellent, slow food-like cuisine with a commitment to using regional and seasonal organic ingredients. For cold winters, the cosy wine cellar allows for a wonderful ambient. In the summer months, the outside terrace allows you to enjoy the warm weather. All this at a very reasonable price. Must: Of course try the wine (especially the Riesling) from their own organic-certified vineyard. Though we have made mixed experiences with organic wine in general, the Jakob Christ variety of organic Riesling wine are amongst our favorites. For refreshment the Riesling also makes a great Schorle (wine mixed with cold sparkling water). Hint: They are not open all year round, so check their website for opening days and hours. Better even, call and make a reservation."
