"We went to St. Goar for a weekend getaway and decided to start our weekend with a cocktail and light food in this beer garden. The location is beautiful and there is a playground next door that is ideal for children. Perfect, right? Not long. Our good mood was soon damped when the waitress spilled our cocktails over us. Accidents happened and we were not too locked out. However, it took 45 minutes to get us replacement drinks (even if the restaurant was not excessively busy) and an hour to replace the food that had been drunk in alcohol. Once the food was served, we asked for some Mayo and ketchup for the pommes, just to be spun and say that every customer is only entitled to a Mayo or ketchup basically give us a talk about how much Mayo we were allowed. While we waited for the Mayo, we ordered another drink. The Mayo lasted 20 minutes and the new drinks an hour. Our second drink, an aperol spray, was served for the second time in a glass half the size of the first (but for the same price). Between all this, one of the waiters brought my child to tears when she gave us a long talk about how to drive around to get to the playground and not climb over the fence. I see that climbing over the fence is not the right thing, but my child wasn't the first thing to do. In fact, I had jumped German children (and parents) over the fence in the last two hours. They survived without a disgusting talk. We were a group of three women and a child, all English speakers from different countries. We were not loud or rude and just wanted to enjoy a pretty cocktail in a beautiful environment. Too bad this place turned out so bad. I wouldn't advise anyone to visit this beer garden. Being polite and offering a good service should not be a brainer."
