"Well, we have pretty much tried half the menu. Aside from the fried stuff which is really good for what if is everything has been really good. A nice surprise. We have had the Raw Oysters, Oyster Stew, Clam Chowder, Grilled Salmon with veggies, Louie Salad with Crab, Crab Cakes, Captains Plate, Fettuccini, Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Mouse and I am sure that there has actually been more. The Oyster Stew and Clam chowder are both very satisfying soups on there own. Delicate flavors that intermingle beautifully. The Oyster stew is very smooth and silky (Also, I got 7 Oysters in my stew so the ratio of meat to soup is actually very generous) while the Clam Chowder is hearty and satisfying. Next time I get the chowder, I am going to try the bread bowl. My husband and I usually get a Dozen Oysters to share and so far my favorites are the Pacific. They're Briny and Fresh and served with Lemon, Cocktail Sauce and Extra Horse Radish (you can mix the amount of heat you want). I like them too, because they are a better value I feel; Very plump and juicy and I tend to like savory better than sweet any day. The other smaller variety oysters have all been a little sweeter, they're still excellent, but I still prefer the Pacifics. The grilled Salmon was perfect. Very Fresh. Nice light crust on the outside, Flaky and delicious on the inside. The vegetable pairing is a lightly herbed mix of squash, mushrooms and asparagus that I really enjoyed. The Louie Salad is very fresh and crisp lettuces and veggies topped off with fresh, flaky crab meat. This is meat that I appreciate the touch of sweet on. OK now for the standout star of the Andy's experience... The CRAB CAKES. My husbands job has had us living in the DC area for a time. There is nothing like the Blue Crab Crab Cakes we used to get there. We lived there 16 years ago. We have tried crab cakes all over the country and have never come even remotely close to the crab cakes at A little Jewish Deli in Germantown, MD, until Andy's. We have found an equal contender! The Crab Cakes are light, well seasoned and meaty! No filler. No yucky crackers or breadcrumbs to stretch the crab. Just pure unadulterated crab cake bliss served in a lemony and delicious Cream Sauce!!! We also tried the Fish and Chips. Captain's Platter. For a fried offering it was good, but not usually my cup of tea, so maybe don't take my word for that. If you like fried stuff try it amd let me know what you think. For Dessert so far we have tried the Strawberry Shortcake and the Chocolate Mouse. The Strawberry shortcake wasn't bad, but I prefer a slightly sweet biscuit with an ever so slight hint of salt instead of Angel food Cake. Probably a sweetness issue for me again. I like well balanced sweet and Angel food has always seemed very sweet to me, probably because there is no fat component to balance the sugar, but it was topped with fresh whipping cream and that does make a difference. The chocolate mousse was the perfect density and had a very nice chocolate flavor. The only complaint I have is that it was slightly over whipped so it had a bit of a buttery nuance instead of a silky finish on the tongue. All in all the food at Andy's is well prepared with excellent service. Attention to details here is apparent in the perfectly balanced flavors and nicely plated food. Someone in this kitchen cares about what you are eating and it tastes that way! Looking forward to more Date Nights here!!!!"

"Came here for breakfast because we'd heard such great things. Maltby Cafe is a cute little cafe in the basement of a building. First off, we were greeted warmly by the hostess at the front, which was followed up by an equally warm and friendly waitress. The food was really good much better than I expected from a small, local diner type place. The waitress said they were known for their eggs benedict, which was what my wife ordered. Because there were so many items on the menu, I asked for a recommendation, and the waitress recommended the Maltby New York Steak omelet. I should have listened to her because that was what I was eyeing, but unfortunately, I went with the Swedish pancakes. My wife's country eggs benedict was very good. The ham was high quality, and it was a nice twist that they used a biscuit instead of an english muffin, and then the best thing was the hollandaise sauce (although they could have put more sauce on the dish). The sauce was excellent, and tasted fresh and homemade. My swedish pancakes were okay, not bad, but not great. They were a little too thick for my liking, so wouldn't recommend those (man, I wish I'd gotten that steak omelet We also ordered one of their famous cinnamon rolls to go, and it was definitely good (I mean you really have to mess up to make a bad tasting cinnamon roll), but overall, I'd say it was as good as what you can get at cinnabon. Maltby Cafe definitely serves a very good breakfast, and the service was excellent, prompt and friendly, but I wouldn't say it was the best breakfast I've ever had. That said, I'd definitely recommend, especially if you're near the area and want a high-quality breakfast with large portions."

"I finally had a chance to try this place. I had heard good and bad reviews and really wanted to have my own opinion. Was not busy at all for a Thursday evening and was immediately greeted and sat. We ordered a couple beers while we reviewed the menu. Instantly was a bit shocked at the prices until we got to the affordable page which seemed reasonable. Fajitas sounded quite tasty and the price was about the same as it would be elsewhere. Our orders were done fairly quick. First the chicken fajitas came out and looked, smelled and tasted amazing. Then the seafood fajitas arrived and the same for them.Looking at our two platters of fajitas, first impression is wow, this is a meal . My buddy devoured his meal in minutes but took me a bit more time to deconstruct my platter without making a complete mess. The whitefish (I am assuming was tilapia) was seasoned well and tasted all right. I then made my way to the shrimp which was a little disapointing as they were still in the shell and not deveined also, very bland. I then noticed a good sized piece of octopus and excited to try it. I was immediately disappointed with the texture and could tell it was way overcooked and lacked much flavor. The deeper I got into my platter, the more you could taste a dirty, burnt and bitter grill. So, my overall experience was, a bit disappointing.Pros: great service, quick meal delivery, large portionsCons: less than marginal food prep (with the seafood fajitas), you could tell that much of my platter was precooked/boiled then, seered on a dirty grill. Lastly, a menu with very expensive meals. Im definitely happy we went with a less expensive meal to discover the less than average quality of seafood and prep.I give a 3 star review of the food but, that is because of the chicken fajitas.I hope the owner/manager sees this review and recognizes it as constructive criticism and an opportunity to improve instead of provide excuses like on many other reviews."
