"I wish I could give zero stars. Where to begin. A Sunday late afternoon (4:30ish), the place was not packed but had patrons. Took forever to get a drink order. Finally received our food only to push my plate aside as my food was cold. Waitress said she would take it off my bill. Only to then see another person in our party had taken two small bites out of her cold, soggy catfish and pushed it aside; then a third person in our party pushed her dinner aside of cold chicken liver. When the waitress FINALLY came to our table, I complained about the other two dinners. “We can take 1/2 off.” No ma’am, you’re going to take all 3 off because none are even half eaten, merely 2-3 bites. Asked to speak to the manager, waited 30 minutes for the bartender to arrive who said she was the acting manager, explained the situation (again) and said I will not pay for 3 dinners which weren’t even close to being eaten and asked for my bill. Waited 30 more minutes and finally went to the bar and asked for the bill. RUDELY, she indicated they were very busy and she would get to me as they “are swamped due to waiting on a funeral party.” I told her I merely need my bill. I was told I was rude. I indicated to her I find it odd there is a funeral party on a Sunday at dinner time when no cemetery buries late in the day and most don’t on a Sunday. And if there is a visitation it should still be going on. She asked what I do for a living. I told her it’s not her business. She then announces loudly, “she won’t even tell me where she works!”, as she’s laughing. There could have been an easy resolution, give me a correct copy of my bill so we can pay and be on our way. Customer service is key to the success of any business. The employees failed miserably. Though most of us were there visiting family living in Staunton, and we had a party of 7, you would have thought the waitress would have been a bit more attentive (at least to check on our drinks) considering she would have received a sizable tip rather than ignoring us, having an uncaring attitude, us dealing with the rude, rude, RUDE bartender which has resulted in receiving this review. Overhaul the staff and start from scratch!!!"
