"During the day trip to Sylt we were again in Westerland this year and at noon the question of what we should eat was naturally asked. We were seven people and in some locations it can become narrow. First we wanted to eat Blum fish, but there was full and we didn't find any place. So we stood there and it tended some for the Münchner Hahn, which is not at all my location after the visit years before. Well, yes, but everyone deserves a second chance. Once we arrived in the restaurant, we were looking for a big table outside any welcome. With ach and krach we had all the space, the largest table was unfortunately already occupied. Then a waiter came by with a short Hello and the hint that he would come to us right away. It took a few minutes, then he took the drinks without taking part and handed us the menus. For the kids there was again their own children's menu for coloring, the pens came promptly – after all! Then the drinks came soon, but he didn't pick up our food and he comforted us again, he'll be right there! You have to say that the place was half-filled and 3 waiters slept around, so it can't have been stressful – actually. After approx. 10 minutes the Lord came back to us, we wanted to go, especially he took orders from people from other tables that came to us. Our mood was at least what we gave him to understand. Well, we've been there before, so we've ordered it. For me there was a 08/15 chipped carving with pommes. Well, what am I supposed to say, it wasn't grottenschlecht, but loveless and kind of griefless what was on the plate. The carving itself was as good as possible, in one place the meat was quite fibrous. The Pommes were average. It's a shame that it wasn't even asked if you want ketchup or a sauce, so I took the carving with pommes dry to me. I also know that you get an appetizer salad in a good restaurant – now somewhere else. Generally, the portion was just small and not appropriate to the price. Half my wife's chicken was much more interesting with 2 supplements. If you order this great salad extra, which is declared a “small, colorful salad”, you can leave incredible 4,90 euros. When I saw what was served there, I had to really hold back that I don't get a cramp with occasional lagate stacks! That was the joke! After all, half the chicken was apparently good. For the kids there were chicken fillet with late zle and sauce. The meat was fine, the rest was uniform. To the rest of the location I had already said everything in the other reviews. For me, it is only obvious that this shed will no longer see me – especially through the very miserable service and the average food."

"this local offers a mix of sporty, breakfast café and bistro. besides a large offer of sandwiches, croissants, cake and baked specialties are served cold and hot drinks but also bistro-typical almost food a la carte such as flame-cake, currywurst or fries. the warm food is freshly prepared, it takes its time, so whoever waits for a train must either come sooner or only drink a capucchino. we have been taking complete meals for about 5 years in our sylt vacations, these are still in good condition after 20 minutes drive in the apartment. spices, fat content, browning etc. of supplements and meat are perfect. at our visit there has never been anything to complain about. on request you can also deviate from the map, also semmeln are occupied according to gusto. many guests (especially those without money) use the space as a warm room. so many tables are often occupied over hours without much consumption. the ambiente is characterized in rather dark, slightly Italian style. with lots of wood optics and pleasant lighting. However: in general, the train station is very loud and hectic, and the ambiente suffers from this. That is why we have been going to have the meal packed in. who puts more worth on seeing and seeing, for whom are also standing tables and chairs in the outdoor area, directly on the glow with the same smell of the loks. you get dripping-proof and re-closable foam packaging and plastic cutlery in the bag. keeps tight and works. a point-down at the service: with the same gloves with which the chocolate croissants were stacked in the glass thresen and recoiled or packaged, also money (nozzles and bills) and putts were touched. we saw this by chance when ordering (was not our food) and should give the personal (mostly unskilled seasonal forces) the strict regulation of system gastronomy once read. the kitchen is sometimes open and is therefore good to see. there it is clean, neat, the chef understands his craft and the result is appealing. also the chef looks over frequently, acts quietly and explains a lot. this is important because it is very difficult to get in the moment of shock (morning, when many commuters break up, who drive from the island) and at the time of the holiday retreats. then the waiting time takes 15 or 20 minutes as mentioned. yet incomprehensible that the thing with the putzlapp, which also wandered from one hand to the other, was not noticed. the price-performance ratio is in order, sylttypical, i.e. for two people double-digit in the middle range, that we give to consider, but for a restaurant in the railway station quite appropriate. football shows on sky are free for guests. Accessible thanks to automatic door."

"Krischan (Christian is no longer the boss of the beach mussel since 2017..........but fortunately everything remains at the old and thus in the established beach mussel family and Sven is now the boss, for that Lars is back after he has closed his own restaurant again, so almost again the team with which I celebrated my wedding in the beach mussel in 2008. As you can hear, even in this beach bud is generally only geduzt . Since I started to choose the island for the summer holiday, the beach mussel accompanies me as a fixed starting point for the evenings on the island. To eat or just for a glass of wine at sunset on the beach main staircase of Rantum, just a few steps further down the way to the sea. My old criticism is from 2015 and with Sven as a new boss it is time to give a short update. The beach mussel is not a classic restaurant, but one of these only Sylt-finding board buds with little comfort and certain shabby chic charm, that is to say in the ambience of a snack is cooked to a high level and offered to even higher level of wine. If you enter the good guest tent, you will see a simple ambience. High tables are waiting for guests, booking is not available. One comes and hopes for free places, usually works and one can call shortly before his visit and ask if a table can be kept free, otherwise one must hope. So far we have never had to leave the beach clam hungry and thirsty again. Behind the tent is a small wooden construction. There are some small tables, theke and kitchen. It is always admirable how the service and the kitchen can handle all this during the summery rush. After all, there was a change with the new boss, it goes through all year. The old boss was surfing in southern areas during winter and has consistently closed the shop. Sven has now installed a heater and leaves the store open. I haven't dared to ask if he can't surf....... The food map is short and short, the wine map explodes in front of loudly enticing and correspondingly high-priced products. You can quickly fall into insolvency if you don't care. But even in the range of up to 35 EUR there are good offers (why does this only never work with me? . In addition, 2 to 4 dishes are always written on the daily ticket. It was then with the offer in food. With my wife and me it's tradition to choose wine first. He'll come into the cooler hanging on the table. Despite the Duzerei, the service is with all the men of the discipline! Competent is reported about new wines, competently advised, opened, and gifted that is highest level, but just in short pants and T shirt. If we have the wine, and it is the cost, my wife goes to the counter, and is looking for tapas that we always eat as an appetizer in the beach clam. When the selection is put together, a plate is put together with bread and placed on the table between the guests. Pulpo was very good this year, sardines I always like... flow cancers wanted my wife. Olives we both eat. You can take time, always eat from all tapas, look people on the way to the beach. The first bottle will be a bit less in content, you already consider, what could be the main food and what wine fits with it (I already said that I could get NIE with 35 EUR wine budget? . On the evening that I am deputizing here for a few visits, a dish from the solid card for my wife tomato fish inpot with North Sea fish and seafood should be it. Another good fresh white bread. There is not much to say, Mediterranean pure, with North Sea fish in it, Germanic the potatoes as an ingredient. Woman raised the thumb. Actually, I eat only fish on the island, but here I could not resist on the day map was announced Kotelette by Husumer Schwein, with mushrooms, herbal butter and fries . At the table a trunk of a wooden board with a chop came to the fact that even a Viking would have done enough after the Atlantic crossing. I failed very rarely at emptying a plate....here it was the case, a few pommes went back. The chop itself was as it must be for me. On the bone, thick cut, at least 3cm must be so that it remains juicy. That's how pork is a treat. We drank a wonderful white burgundy, from the close, from the Poss winery from Windesheim. In the map is still the vintage 2011, unfortunately it was out, and we got the equally good vintage 2013 to cost. This wine is the highest burgundy art from the winemaker....big! And worth every single of the 56 EUR called for the bottle. The beach clam belongs to the western beach of Rantum and the food in the beach clam belongs to the sunset enjoyed by the main staircase or from the beach basket. If the sun kisses the horizon, the service will be informed, the glass will be filled and fluffed to the beach. These are the moments when I know Rantum is the most beautiful place in the world! At least for me! Unfortunately, I will never be able to afford a house here..........when it gets dark, the table waits for the guest and you can catch up. That's the moments you're thinking about, Dessert? Or one of the good red from the map..and you already know, I'm already looking forward to the next visit to the beach mussel, my favorite place in Rantum on Sylt."
