"My order came out quickly, and the owner or manager greeted me warmly before I left. It was evident that he was passionate about his business. He shared that all the food is made in-house and pointed out some lovely details in the decor, highlighting the sounds of the salsas being mixed and prepared. I appreciated his energy and dedication; it was clear he truly cares about his work.
Now onto the main event! I took my soup home, and it remained warm and well-packaged. They took great care to secure the bowl of soup in plastic packaging. It came with a side of Salsa Verde, jalapeños, and tortilla strips, which I had requested. The portion was generous and well-priced, featuring large pieces of chicken along with vegetables like celery, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, and pinto beans. There was plenty of broth, and I really appreciated that it wasn’t overly salty! The soup also had a layer of melted white cheese at the bottom and was topped with fresh avocado.
Overall, I found the soup to be hearty and filling—a meal in itself. The salsas I sampled were fantastic! The cabbage with carrots had a great flavor with a hint of herbs, and the Salsa Verde was creamy and delicious, with a savory taste I could definitely see pairing well with eggs. The Pico de Gallo was also tasty, but my favorite was definitely the Salsa Roja—I could eat that by the spoonful!
My crema churro, also a limited-time offering, was a delightful treat that wasn’t overly sweet. Thank you to the team for their hospitality and pride in their work. They are the kind of friendly, hardworking folks who inspire me to support local businesses! I would definitely order their signature mesquite-grilled chicken again. To practice my Spanish: ¡Gracias por el amor y cuidado en su comida!"
