"Should change its name, this is a shadow of what Sweet Sues used to be. I had been going to sweet sues regularly for as far back as I remember. It never disappointed. Pancakes as big as your plate but still absolutely delicious, I’ve never had any that came close. French toast far and beyond anything I’d ever had before, big and fluffy and one encrusted with pecans or hazelnuts. I was devastated when Sweet Sues closed. And was so excited to learn it had reopened. But I’m sorry to say, this isn’t Sweet Sues. The menu lost all its interesting pancake choices that they used to have paintings of on the walls. Lost its gluten free pancake option. The legendary French toast doesn’t even appear on the menu. The pancakes aren’t Sweet Sues quality. They’re smaller and just missing that extra something that set them above all others. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a good pancake, but it’s not a legendary Sweet Sues pancake. Service was slow when I was there, it took just under an hour to get our food. Honestly that was a problem with the original Sweet Sues though, and I know it’s hard to get enough staff. Overall, if you hadn’t ever been to the old Sweet Sues, you’ll probably enjoy going here. They have good pancakes. Their eggs and potatoes look good. Their sandwiches are very small for the price, I would avoid them. But what bothers me is that the location is coasting off of a pancake reputation that it bought, rather than earned. I hope this is just the start for the new Sweet Sues and it will become more perfected over time."
