"I guess I was happy to have recommended this place by a sweet waitress in the smortorget caffe. since my first visit 2 days ago at this place I have eaten here every night. amazing choice of Italian cuisine especially when they are a vegetarian. they were very busy on a Saturday night that was understandable, I got another table and served on time. each employee was occupied to deal with many customers, but their service was still top notch. I had pasta on my first day and on my third day of visit, various dishes. I had pizza on the second day. all the dishes were delicious. they could taste every ingredient and was sublimely well cooked. I'm glad I discovered this place. whether I'm in oslo or stavanger or in tromso, norway never disappointed me when it comes to eating. I recommend this cool place."

"I came by two times to try and dine at this spot both times they said they were fully booked when there was only one party dining there. Not sure why they would turn away customers if they didn 't have a reservation when the whole restaurant was empty both times I stopped by check the photo I snapped when the waitress rudely said they are fully booked. Art Café should really work on how they prioritize their bookings and walk in customers and be a bit nicer in how they speak to customers."

"Cosy restaurant with a variety of food and drinks. I was put off a little by the bad reviews, but I was very pleased with the food here. They didn’t have my first choice of meal or wine, but what I did have was absolutely delicious some of the best food I’ve had in Bodø. The tagliatelle with chicken is so, so good. For dessert I chose the chocolate raspberry mousse ice cream with pistachios. It was heavenly. The staff are also all nice and seem happy to be working there."

"I first came to dinner menu and ordered the cadjau. the court was bright and vacant with taste. especially I enjoyed the plucked celery, such an interesting detail! the food was so good and the lunch menu looked even better, so the next day I booked a table for lunch. I had the rave and the vertebrae. I loved the bee particularly. textures and aromes were well thought out. for the desert I had the best sherbet I had ever had! everything was delicious and I really enjoyed talking to the front of the house staff. I was not rushed and they had excellent recommendations."

"The service at this restaurant was quick and efficient, even though it wasn't very crowded. The McFlurry was disappointing. I was hoping for something similar to a Dairy Queen Blizzard, with all the mix-ins throughout the ice cream. Instead, I received a small cup of soft serve vanilla with some crushed Oreos and chocolate sauce on top. The excitement was over after just a few bites, leaving only plain vanilla."

"Visit on 07/24/2023 We visited the restaurant around noon and ordered a la carte. I ordered a signature menu for 645 NOK with starter (reindeer tataki)/main course (grilled cod)/dessert (panna cotta) my wife ordered a risotto for 295 NOK. I was told that the reindeer tataki was out of stock but I could choose another starter. I then decided on another dish. Afterwards we unfortunately had to wait almost 1 hour, which in itself is very borderline as the restaurant was not even fully occupied. Then we both got our main course which tasted absolutely perfect. The chefs know what they are doing. However, if you read it correctly, you will now realize that something is wrong. Because my starter wasn't served beforehand. When the waitress wanted to ask me if they could serve the dessert, I asked her about it and we agreed that I would pay for the fish and the dessert separately, but that I would rather order a rhubarb parfait instead of the panna cotta. The reason why I give the service here 4 out of 5 stars is due to the action that happened now. I got my dessert relatively quickly and started to eat. Now another lady came along and also handed my wife a rhubarb parfait as house compensation. That this happened without complaining on our part at the restaurant's own initiative is worthy of all credit. However, when I wanted to pay, the price of my menu was also reduced by 50%. I've never experienced anything like this before, so it just has to be mentioned. Quality of the food 5/5 there is nothing to complain about Service needs to be faster, but problem solving is great. 4/5 Ambience is totally okay, modern restaurant at the harbor with enough outdoor seating 4/5 Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: kr 400–500 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4"

"A bit different. The pile of shrimps made me wonder if it was a ‘sharing for 2 platter’. There was so much. There was also a substantially thick piece of bread under it. Unfortunately it was sourdough. The thick crust proved time-consuming, hard work (with the given knives) to cut. So after persevering for maybe half the slice, I abandoned the crust and just ate the delicious soft part. By and large, I enjoyed the meal. The spread on the bread was good, and the lettuce etc. The amount of shrimp on the bread made it an enjoyable, filling, open sandwich. My wife had a salad something. She chose egg, only to be surprised when it was fried. She had expected hard boiled. The cafe was neat and clean. I was just a bit surprised prised that there was no toilet, and I was directed to public toilets in the adjacent shopping mall. Here entry was by 10 kr coin. As a day visitor off a cruise ship, expecting to use a credit card for everything, I was somewhat miffed."

"very nice place to have dinner with friends. great eating, excellent cakes and aromatic coffee. everything is vegan. very friendly service. if they don't speak Norwegian, don't worry, everyone speaks English. the restaurant/bar also has outdoor spaces, but this area is missing comfortably. nevertheless I would recommend the place."

"we went to lunch yesterday and I had a nice juicy auberg suppinee. for the soups were vegan. it was great that they could also get suppe in different sizes. I had a medium-sized suppe and could get two toppings. if they had a small suppe, a topping was included. we later went back on the afternoon to get an salat (bäckplattel) for our train trip to oslo. it was perfect to bring the train. updated by previous review on 2022-06-24"

"I would say an almost unmissable dining experience in Bergen. Set in a beautiful historical building along the famous waterfront, siting inside is an experience in itself. The service was excellent, attentive and breaks between courses. The fish soup, fried catfish and fish duo I can personally recommend. Then for dessert there is only one choice, the brown cheese ice cream. Our waiter Frank, who again was excellent the whole time strongly recommended it to us and I was so wrong to initially doubt him, it is truly delicious"

"even if there are some vegan options. I wouldn't really come back. I had the sweetburger and it was not tasteful at all. it was made of lenses or grains, but the texture was off, and the only pleasant part was the side of the kartoffel. Perhaps the packaging would have been a better option."

"they get a menu when they sit down, but they can only order via their website and not by their own personal. the process of ordering their eating therefore takes twice as long as it should, while navigating all the different options on their phone, try to find the article they have selected on their menu. other guests seemed to experience the same difficulties. taking into account the unnecessary complicated ordering process, eating was good, but a large cold, served on cold plates."

"The restaurant is well-located in the old center Bryggen of Bergen and has a nice interior. However after carefully studying the options on the menu card, we opted for one of the two quiches and one of the two Ramen soups. (Being no big fans of the usual junk food burgers or pizza which by now you get almost anywhere even in a vegan version. It turned out that none of the quiches were actually on offer. Neither was one of the drinks with tonic water I chose. So we then switched to both variants of Ramen soup, the creamy one with coconut milk and the one with Miso. Both were listed as main dishes and priced at about 200 NOK. Therefore we assumed that we would get something satiating like a bowl filled with noodles in the respective soup like they serve in Japan. What a mistake! We actually got two watery soups with just a few noodles in them. Both soups were delicious and had apparently been made with fresh ingredients which had been cooked on point, so no complaints about this. But what on earth hindered them from making these dishes satiating by using a reasonable amount of noodles? In the end we left the restaurant having paid the price for two main dishes but not the least satiated. Luckily we still had some bread in our hotel room so we didn't have to go to bed feeling hungry."

"During my travels through Norway I had the pleasure of visiting Bergen for two days and stumbled upon Bare Vestland. It was a wonderful dining experience. I was seated at the kitchen view table and watched the chefs take great pride in their creations. The menu is simple and each dish is prepared to perfection. The dishes were presented with an explanation that showed serving staff shared the enthusiasm for the food quality. Each dish I tried was full of flavors, textures, temperatures and colors. I only wish I were in town a couple more days to experience the full menu. I have dined at about 25 fine restaurants in Norway and this is the best. The price was also below the median. Great place."

"Wasn't too sure about this place, when I saw the reviews. But there aren't too many options for lunch in Flam. We didn't want pizza, so we thought we'd just have coffee and a quick bite, after checking in and before heading on our afternoon safari. We may have been lucky in that, by the time we checked in and freshened up, a few train loads of tourists had already departed, so it wasn't busy. We had the smoked salmon and the goat sausage. Both were lovely. While the sausage was a bit fatty for me, he loved it. They had run out of apple cake, but we ordered the chocolate cake with our coffees. It was a nice light home made style cake with just the right amount of cream. Also, the coffees were on point. The staff were lovely. Given that we had come in at the tail end of lunch, they were relaxed and so much fun to chat with."
