"Got a good review here on Google. My partner and I therefore chose to eat at Saray. We ordered a starter and a main course in the same order. The appetizer came pretty quickly. The tortillas we ordered were cold and the cheese was not properly melted. The salsa was cold and tough. We had only just started on the starter when the main course arrived. My entourage ordered plank steak and I ordered entrecôte. So no difference, they were served the same way. The entourage had added creamed potatoes. These he sent back when they were cold and they had a sour taste. Have. Got the offer if he wanted new cream potatoes or fries, so he took fries. The steak for the accompaniment was raw on the side that did not run down against the hot plate on which it was served and well cooked on the side that was facing down. It wasn't spicy, so I added salt and pepper in the hope that it was only what was wrong with the meat. It wasn't. The retinue did not eat their meat. He got pepper sauce for it, it tasted like Toro's. The entrecôte that I got was almost impossible to cut into as there was so much sinew, cartilage and other things. The vegetables were cold on one side and hot on the other. The bernaise I got tasted weird. I asked to order something else from the menu as there were 2 of us who were unhappy with the choice of steak, the waiter went to ask the chef and was told that we would then have to pay for the dish we did not eat in addition to the new one. We drank what we had in the glasses and paid for the food we hadn't eaten. We went to a fast food restaurant where the food was much better at a much cheaper price."

"Horrible place! Avoid at all costs! We ordered a steak and salmon. I specifically mentioned that I wanted my steak to be well done! We waited for about 45 minutes for our food and were super hungry when the dishes finally arrived. The moment I cut my steak I saw blood running all over the plate… the steak was not even medium. It was rare almost blue! I immediately called the waiter, who was extremely rude! She started with rolling her eyes and then she asked ‘So, What do you want?’ I told her that I could not eat this, and I wanted a well done steak. She replied that they were super busy, and if I didn’t want to eat this, I would have to wait for another 45 minutes! This sounded just ridiculous. She basically blamed me for her mistake. And her attitude stunk! This is NOT the service that you would expect from this place, especially considering the price level. So, the waiter took the plate and just disappeared… we waited and waited… my friend finished the salmon and I still sat there waiting for the steak. Finally, I caught another water – a Swedish guy – who again started with rolling his eyes and saying that they had a lot to do, but he would TRY to help! After 15 more minutes the steak arrived – it was the same piece that I earlier had, but deliberately burned, so it literally looked like a piece of coal! Such a horrible experience and ruined night out. Never again!"

"Dining at Hereford Steakhouse promised an evening of culinary delight, and in many aspects, it did not disappoint. The food was undeniably delicious, with the steaks standing out as the highlight of the evening. However, a good meal should be complemented with equally commendable service, and unfortunately, that was not the case during our visit. The Good: We started our meal with scallops and French onion soup. The scallops were well-prepared and enjoyable. The comprehensive selection of steaks provided an exciting palette of flavors, and the execution on these steaks was impeccable, deserving of praise. The Not-So-Good: The service we experienced during our visit left a lot to be desired. With just two servers attending to the entire restaurant, it seemed quite clear that they were understaffed. This not only impacted the speed of the service but its quality as well. Our server, although seemingly well-intentioned, seemed inexperienced. The language barrier was evident – he didn 't speak Norwegian and struggled with English. This led to significant misunderstandings. Two of our party had ordered lobster to accompany their steak, yet only one was initially served. The omission of the second lobster seemed like a clear oversight. Moreover, one member of our group is allergic to mushrooms and had explicitly requested their dish to be prepared without them. Sadly, they were served vegetables mixed with mushrooms, which could have had serious consequences. Lastly, a point on customization. In many steakhouses globally, serving vegetables and sides family style is customary, especially given the price point. Our server seemed unfamiliar with this concept, which was disappointing. A minor note on the French onion soup – it could have done with a more generous helping of cheese. To Conclude: For a bill that totaled 5500 NOK for five guests, one would expect both food and service to be top-notch. While the food – especially the steaks – were delightful and justified the cost, the service, unfortunately, marred our overall experience. Should you decide to dine at Hereford Steakhouse, come for the food, but be prepared for potential lapses in service."
