"Wow! We found this gem on our way back from a day trip to St Louis while camping nearby at Rend lake. Atmosphere here was like a big city brewery but nestled in a small town. Lots of smiling faces on the way in. Server (Adam) had an amazing and entertaining attitude. Everything a server should be. We ordered some beers and were delighted that all tested absolutely wonderful and I've had A LOT of beer at a lot of breweries. Food was wonderful. Rueben was a hit. We even changed plans for tomorrow to come back. PS. Very sturdy patio tables."

"Traveling through and when I saw that they have been serving pizza since 1933, I had to stop. Started with Toasted Ravioli ... perfectly crisp and tasty! I ordered a classic sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, green pepper, and onion. The crust was a little thicker than the cracker crust I like best, but it had abundant toppings and great flavor."

"We came here for the first time in a while, and were massively disappointed. The bacon brussels sprouts are usually our go-to but they were charred to almost nothing. My husband ordered a steak, and it was salty and overcooked. I got the BBQ sandwich and it had almost no meat and a ton of sauce. Service was not good and they were not open to feedback when they asked us how everything was. None of us received our food at the same time. It came out sporadically. As one of the only local restaurants in DuQuoin, we sincerely wish they would do better than this. Unfortunately, we will not be back."

"The Salty Boar has some of the best BBQ I’ve had in Southern Illinois. The server was very kind, the people are friendly. It’s just what you’d expect from a small town. Kindness served with great BBQ. If passing through or going to visit, put this little spot on your list . Try the Beef sandwich…I’ll add photos next go around."
