"Great place for lunch or dinner. As others have noticed, dinner is a high end and prices are expected with this quality level. Lunch is cheaper but has a varied and tasty menu. We all seem to have our favorites. My is the penne pasta with vegetables and chicken in a thyme broth that is amazing. Big part. My friends swear at the meat store sandwich and at the shrimp pool. Try lunch. Same great atmosphere and exceptional service."

"The food is good, and the 2 for $25 price is reasonable. Around 5 minutes after our salads were brought, our entrees arrived. Hubby moved this salad aside, and ate his meal. I finished my salad and then ate my barely warm meal. Steaks were cooked correctly, and broccoli well steamed. Timing of service needs improvement."

"The Back Porch is always our go to in Kilgore. Their food is always consistent and delicious. It is also priced fairly, and their servers are always courteous and kind. I’ve never had a bad experience. It’s also a great place to hear live music, and they always have a full lineup."

"I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo, jalapeños, potatoes, egg, and cheese. There was about a half a tablespoon of beans at just one end of the burrito. The chorizo had no flavor and when I say no flavor, I had to add what this place calls hot sauce (basically tomato sauce) to my meal to have any flavor. Even the jalapeños were bland. The waitress needs to be working in another field, maybe at a register at a gas station. There was a really nice man with his son. Several others came in after. She was taken the others orders as the man and his son patiently waited. The young boy started acting like he was eating. Another employee finally came out of the back to bring food to another table. The man finally spoke up (after about 15-20 minutes) and asked if someone was going to take their order. If someone knows of another place to have breakfast in kilgore, please share. I come to kilgore e every 3 weeks to get my nails done. I don't eat McDonald's, burger king, or any of that. Thanks in advance."
