Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Unfortunately, every time I come here, it is more and more disappointing. Our server was really trying her best with what appeared to be an overly full section and not enough staff. I would have liked to see the restaurant seat less people and be able to provide better service and accommodate a stressed staff. The food, after waiting almost 2 hours, was quite frankly inedible. Left with a full plate and an empty stomach. Eggs were dry and tasteless, sausage patty was tough and rubbery, hash-brown casserole tasted like a child’s art project with too much glue, and the gravy for the biscuits was like instant mashed potatoes. Before getting seated: I don’t know what was in the air at this establishment today, but walking in we were told it would be a 20-25 minute. Our party (5 ppl) waited for over a hour with the hostess telling us that we were up next every single time we checked on our spot. Numerous larger parties were seated before us that checked in after us. While being seated: A host was walking us over to the table and the previous customer left a tip on the table. I got to the restaurant and was told that the wait would be about 25 minutes (party of 5), and ended up having to wait an hour when parties larger than ours came in 10-20 minutes later than we did and were seated (party of 10, party of 8, and several smaller parties). So we asked one last time when our table would be ready, to which the host replied we were next, but we would still have to wait for a table to get up.
