"Buttercup had a Dr's appointment in Newport Beach and I spotted Flower Child as we were exiting McArthur and new we had to eat there after the appointment. After reviewing the menu we both wanted the same thing the Mother Earth. Ancient grains, sweet potato, portobello mushroom, avocado, cucumber, broccoli pesto, charred onion, leafy greens, red pepper miso vinaigrette, hemp seed with Tofu as the protien. We called in our order and were told 10 minutes wow I love how fast it was. When I picked up the food I was greeted by a very friendly staff and was just blown away by all the fresh ingredients that were being prepped, like the tomatoes were beautiful! I love this place except it’s a tad too salty and I always end up a little swollen the next morning

I discovered this restaurant while searching for "kale salad" online. I'm a big fan of the vegan options available in Orange County, but I often find many of them to be quite heavy—essentially vegan versions of the Standard American Diet. Flower Child offers some excellent whole food plant-based choices, although a few of them (like the kale salad) require modifications to make them vegan. The kale salad was delicious, and the hummus plate was also fantastic. Now if they could just go completely meat-free!
