Whenever I am in Athens, I make it a stop at Food for the Soul. Their fried chicken and mac and cheese is the best I have ever had. I hope they publish a cook book

Wow. That's what I am talking about. Everything was perfect. Super Nice folks and Super Fine Soul Food. Fried Pork chop was perfect and the fried chicken livers were tender. Wonderful must eat here place if you love southern soul food.

My wife and I were in Athens at lunch time and looking for a nice place to eat. We were driving around when she saw this little establishment on a corner. Be advised that parking is only available on a side street (perhaps a handicap spot or 2 in front). We went in and got a couple of vegetable plates with tea. It's self-service buffet. The food was good, the prices reasonable, and the people both friendly and helpful.
