"I have lived in Gilroy just over 10 years now. Before this most recent visit I had only been here one time, eight years ago, and it was not good. So I had not been back. I don't know if I simply got an anomalous bad experience, or something has changed, but this visit our meal was amazing. Had a delicious lunch at Gilroy City Cafe, enjoying their Chicken and Prawn Spaghetti with a side of garlic bread and garlic dried tomato sauce. The meal also came with a choice of soup or salad, along with a unique and tasty Chicken Wrap. The food was juicy and satisfying. I have lived in Gilroy all my life......Garlic City Cafe is by far the best restaurant in town. They serve high end meals at a cafe price. The service is great. All staff are super nice and friendly. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal. The chicken piccata is out of this world great. The pasta dishes are wonderful. All the salads are very fresh and not bagged lettuce. The food at this restaurant is incredibly delicious. Every dish we tried was fantastic. The signature cream of garlic soup is a must-try, with its creamy texture and diced potatoes. The $6.95 price for a bowl is a great deal. Our favorite dish was the egg-battered calamari steak with pasta, which came with garlic, artichoke, capers, lemon, butter, cooked broccoli, and carrots.
