"The Fuggerei in Schwäbisch Gmünd is located in the immediate vicinity of Münsterplatz, where the weekly market offers its products from the region every Wednesday and Saturday until 13:00. The inn is one of the top restaurants in Schwäbisch Gmünd and is run by the Wiedmann family. The ambience is very rustic with modern accents in the vault cellar of the old court prison. There are 12-16 tables where 4 people can find room. The number of dishes is very clear from the fillet soup with fresh cut liquor for 6€ to the main dish Kalbs cream roast with Landbrot dumplings for 20€. I myself enjoyed the pork comb with herbal crust, creamy vegetables and potatoes for 16€, which was simply excellent. Especially recommended is the wine car that not only leads wines from the region, but also contains great, strong red wines from Spain. Here I can only recommend the Marqués de Castilla Barrica Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, which is simply a large selection with its fruity bouquet. The prices are high, but you will not only receive a professional service and a great ambience, but also simply super prepared dishes that spoil the palate. In this respect, the price range fits very well! Anyone who wants to go to S. Gmünd for dinner should always consider the Fuggerei! The Fuggerei also offers the opportunity to host weddings, Christmas parties or birthdays. For this purpose a large hall on the first floor or in summer the small but very beautiful terrace is built!"
